Russian Gulch State Park Waterfall Hike in Mendocino
Hiking the Fern Canyon Trail to the waterfall in Russian Gulch State Park. This trail is north of Mendocino in a fantastic state park that you need to check out. It is one of my favorite parks along this stretch of the coast and if you only have a few minutes to explore, be sure to go to the overlook and see the views of the bridge. If you have more time to explore the park, then take this 5-mile round trip hike to the waterfall.

Mendocino | California Coast | Pygmy Forest, Russian Gulch, Sinkhole, Wildflowers
Mendocino is located in the coastal area of the northern California. Its coastline and forest are rugged, wild and gorgeous. Come along as I explore the wild coastline, pygmy forest, Big River, Russian Gulch, the Sink Hole, and the Fern Canyon trail.
This video does not do justice to how amazing the place is. To full appreciate it, one must be there in person.
Beauty and joy are everywhere if we keep our minds open. Go out there... and do what you love, whether it is trail running, backpacking, surfing, kayaking, or simply walking around town. Or visit a city for the first time. Have a blast!

Beautiful trail hiking: Russian Gulch State Park, Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, Fort Bragg California
Started my hiking back in california with some beautiful trails in Russian Gulch and Mendocino Headlands state parks over a long weekend. Featured trails in the video are fern canyon trail to waterfall loop and the coastal trail is mendocino headlands trail. Northern california provides some incredible views of the pacific coast and boasts heavenly sunsets. Point Cabrillo lighthouse is just a few minutes away on the ever popular highway 1 along with the sleepy town of Fort Bragg. I have to say that glass beach was a horrible disappointment simply because most of the glass has been picked clean by tourists (leave it to humans). Coastal weather here ranges wildly from early morning fog and mist to gorgeous sunny blue skies. Dress appropriately for this region of california as the coast is much colder (even in summer) than most people think. For the love of future generations dont pick the glass!

Do you remember the last race scene in the movie “Need for Speed”? This is the location of that shoot
Carmet Beach
This is a small beach on Highway 1, along the pacific coast in Bodega Bay. You may spend some time watching the scenic view, fly drone and have snacks.
Glass Beach
This is a perfect beach for viewing sunset. The rocks in the beach make the sunset pictures beautiful.
Jug Handle State Reserve and Beach
It’s a small and beautiful beach. Beach is covered by hills on two sides, which makes the place less windy & allows only the breeze from the ocean. An ideal place for photos & sunset viewing.
Russian Gulch State Park
An awesome place for camping. Even if you are not camping, trails are exciting. Fern Canyon trails takes you to 40 feet waterfalls.
All the photos and videos are captured during the month of March & April 2018.

The walking path from Jug Handle beach to the Pygmy forest, Mendocino county, Ca.
I am going to pretty much leave it up to the viewer whether or not this forest has little signs of sign of possible tree structure and manipulation from a group of bipedal forest creatures..it is a not often hiked trail and , especially this time of year is overlooked...
