Expect Västerås, stans nya showroom invigt
Måndag 13/11 invigdes stans nya showroom Expect Västerås. Det är tidigare Västerås Tourist Center som flyttat in i Expectrums lokaler i Skrapan. Vi pratade med Eva Lilja, Näringslivsdirektör och Pernilla Törngren som bägge är fulla av förväntningar och märkbart stolta över denna satsning för att på allvar kunna visa upp hela Västerås på ett nytt och innovativt sätt.
Invigningen av Expect Västerås
Den 13 november invigdes Expect Västerås på entréplan i Skrapan på Kopparbergsvägen 10. Här ligger nu Västerås nya upplevelsebaserade showroom – en öppen plats för teknik, upplevelser och tradition.
Sedan mitten av oktober finns även Västerås Tourist Center här, efter flytten från Konserthuset.

Our Top 10 near and around southern Sweden
1. Vasteras (Västerås). Sweden’s sixth biggest city surrounded by beautiful nature. It is placed right on the banks of Lake Malaren, the third largest freshwater lake in the whole of Sweden, a country covered in lakes.
2. Orebro (Örebro). It offers an impressive castle and a lively town centre, plus a wide range of attractions and outdoor activities. Närke is the name of the province.
3. Gripsholm slott. Swedish castle is About 70km from Stockholm, with its round towers, spires, drawbridge and creaky wooden halls.
4. Skokloster slott. One of the world’s greatest baroque castles in a beautiful natural setting by Mälaren’s shore near Arlanda. The castle is from the Swedish Empire of the 17th century; it is Sweden’s biggest private palace.
5. Kalmar. A city surrounded by water. In Kalmar, visitors can expect all the benefits of a seaside location, from beaches to harbors, as well as a thriving city center that is full of unique history.
6. Öland. An island located off the southeast coast of Sweden and connected to the mainland by a 6-kilometer long the Ölandsbron Bridge that leads to the city of Kalmar.
7. Bohus fortress. It has one of the most fascinating and turbulent histories of any of the Nordic strongholds. Tales of kings, queens and bloody battles make this 14th-century Norwegian castle a fascinating day trip from Gothenburg during the summer months.
8. Uppsala. Sweden’s fourth city has been the country’s intellectual and ecclesiastical centre since medieval times. Uppsala University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the country.
9. Vaxholm. Idyllic archipelago town with many well-preserved wooden houses from the turn of the last century painted in the archipelago’s typical delicate pastel tones. Vaxholm has numerous charming restaurants, cafés, and shops.
10. Grinda. A charming island, just over an hour away by the fastest boat, via Vaxholm. A blissful archipelago setting, in a nature reserve.

City Science Summit 2019
The CityScienceLab at the HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU) will host the next City Science Summit in cooperation with the MIT Media Lab on October 1st and 2nd, 2019. The summit will look towards future cities that are more livable and innovative in using novel technologies for urban decision-making, design, and operation. In addition to members of the City Science Network, we will welcome international mayors, established experts, high level CEOs and academics for conversations, talks and workshops.

This City Science Summit explores a future WITHOUT top-down and increasingly obsolete systems. 90% of 21st century urban growth is expected to happen in the vast shantytowns of informal settlements, or in cities with almost nonexistent or collapsing infrastructure . What if heavy infrastructure can be replaced WITH lightweight, distributed and ultimately autonomous systems?
Lord Norman Foster, Gesa Ziemer and Kent Larson will discuss the “Power of WITHOUT” and how these ideas could improve the lives of the 3.5 billion humans projected to live in slums and informal settlements without access to conventional infrastructure.
A diverse group of speakers and panelists will convene to discuss these new opportunities in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie followed by a day of workshops and conversations at the HafenCity Universität Hamburg.
The City Science Summit will welcome guests from the City Science labs including guests from Ryerson University in Toronto, Tongji University in Shanghai, Taipei Tech, Aalto University in Helsinki, the University of Guadalajara, and ActuaTech in Andorra.

Kokpunkten Västerås - Alle Rutschen / All Slides Compilation
Video-Zusammenschnitt aller Riesenrutschen im Freizeit- und Erlebnisbad Kokpunkten Västerås, Schweden. Das Schwimmbad Kokpunkten in der schwedischen Industriestadt Västerås befindet sich in einem alten Dampfkraftwerk und ist von außen nur an den zwei Schleifen der X-Tube Reifenrutsche als Erlebnisbad zu erkennen. Im Inneren erwartet den Schwimmbad-Besucher ein atemberaubendes Schauspiel aus Lichtinstallationen, Soundeffekten und wechselnder Lichtstimmung. Kombiniert mit einer vielzahl an Becken (Whirlpools, Planschbecken, Erlebnisbecken mit 360°-Kino, Außenbecken mit Blick über den Mälaren, ...) wird der Badbesuch im Kokpunkten (Deutsch etwa Siedepunkt) zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals und die schwedische Gemütlichkeit machen den Besuch zu einem gelungenen Badeerlebnis.
Action bringen die vier Riesenrutschen (X-Tube Reifenrutsche, Boomerang Half-Pipe Reifenrutsche, zwei Racer-Slide Edelstahl-Tunnelrutschen) in den Siedepunkt und lassen die Herzen von Rutschenfans höher schlagen. Für die Rutschen zeichnet der deutsche Hersteller wiegand.maelzer GmbH verantwortlich, welcher die Rutschen im ehemaligen Dampfkraftwerk mit großem technischem Aufwand installiert hat.

Video compilation out of the amazing slides in the leisure and adventure Kokpunkten Västerås, Sweden. The indoor waterpark Kokpunkten in the Swedish industrial town Västerås is located in an old steam power plant and can be seen as such an adventure park only on the two loops of the X-Tube rafting slide from the outside of the historical building. Inside the visitors can expect a breathtaking spectacle of light installations, sound effects and changing mood light. Combined with a variety of pools (hot tubs, wading pool, adventure pool with 360° movie theater, an outdoor pool with an amazing overlook through the Mälaren, ...) is the visit in Kokpunkten (English: boiling point) a memorable one. The friendliness of the staff and the Swedish cosiness make your visit a successful bathing experience.
Action is the key when you ride one of four giant slides (X-tube Rafting Slide, Boomerang halfpipe slide, two Racer-Slide stainless steel tunnel slides) in the boiling point. These attractions let the hearts of fans of fast waterslides even beat faster. wiegand.maelzer GmbH from Germany is responsible for all the slides. They installed them in the former steam power plant with great technical effort.

France passes tax on tech firms despite US threats
France has approved a digital services tax despite threats of retaliation by the US, which argues that it unfairly targets American tech giants. The 3% tax will be levied on sales generated in France by multinational firms like Google and Facebook. The French government has argued that such firms headquartered outside the country pay little or no tax. The US administration has ordered an inquiry into the move - which could result in retaliatory tariffs. The new tax was approved by the French senate on Thursday, a week after it was passed by the lower house, the National Assembly. Any digital company with revenue of more than €750m ($850m; £670m) - of which at least €25m is generated in France - would be subject to the levy. It will be retroactively applied from early 2019, and is expected to raise about €400m this year. At present, they are able to pay little or no corporate tax in countries where they do not have a large physical presence. They declare most of their profits where they are headquartered. The European Commission estimates that on average traditional businesses face a 23% tax rate on their profits within the EU, while internet companies typically pay 8% or 9%. France has long argued that taxes should be based on digital, not just physical presence. It announced its own tax on big technology firms last year after EU-wide efforts stalled. An EU levy would require consensus among members, but Ireland, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland raised objections. France's new 3% tax will be based on sales made in the country, rather than on profits. About 30 - mostly American companies - will pay it. Chinese, German, Spanish and British firms will also be affected. The French government says the tax will end if a similar measure is agreed internationally. The big tech companies have argued they are complying with national and international tax laws. The Trump administration denounced the move a day before the vote. On Wednesday trade representative Robert Lighthizer said an investigation would determine whether it is discriminatory or unreasonable and burdens or restricts United States commerce. The US inquiry could pave the way for punitive tariffs, which Mr Trump has imposed on several occasions since taking office. Previous investigations launched by Washington have covered European Union and Chinese trade practices. Defending the new tax on Thursday, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said France was sovereign and decided its own tax rules. I want to tell our American friends that this should be an incentive for them to accelerate even more our work to find an agreement on the international taxation of digital services, he added. We came back to Maryland after about one year since the core training seminar and did the seminar In Up Out with about 20 disciples. This is the next step after our Core training seminar.
The In Up Out seminar is designed to take people further when it comes to the understanding of what Church is really about, the prophetic realms and how to recognize the Voice of God, and taking the disciples on some deep sea fishing for people and how to start a movement through multiplication instead of just doing the one plus one model.
This video is showing mostly some street healing and a little of the everyday life during our 2 week stay with our friends in Maryland.

YETD AND GETTING TO SCANIA
The Young European Truck Driver competition is back and you can come and visit, watch the competition, meet me and Pavel Sebor from SCS, see round the Scania Chassis factory, play Euro Truck Sim 2 on the Scandanavia DLC and win goodies such as a Logitech G27!
Scania hosts the biennial Open Day in its hometown Södertälje, Sweden. During this day the assembly line will be open for the public and Cirkus Cirkör, Scandinavia’s leading performing circus, will perform – among many other activities. Last time, some 10,000 people visited the assembly line and watched the YETD Final 2012. This year the visitors are expected to exceed the 10,000 mark.
The event opens for public on Sat April 25th at 11am local time and closes at 4pm. You can watch the competition, visit the chassis factory or find the tent where I will be stationed with Pavel Sebor and a bunch of PCs playing Euro Truck.

HOW TO GET THERE
The entrance for the event is at chassiporten.
For information on how to get there that go to and search for a bus that goes to chassiporten.
SL is Stockholm Lokaltrafik which means Stockholm public transportation.
From Stockholm you can take a commuter train with SL to Södertälje hamn and then a bus to chassiporten. Both commuter trains and busses can be found at
Alternatively you can take a national railways regular train SJ (svenska järnvägar) to Södertälje syd and then a bus to chassiporten.
Please be aware that there are two commuter train stations in Södertälje: södertälje centrum and södertälje hamn. You can get off at either one and catch a bus, but Södertälje hamn is closer and you could walk to chassiporten in about 25 minutes or take a bus. From Södertälje centrum it is too far to walk! From the national train station Södertälje syd it is also possible to walk in appr. 25 minutes but you can also take a bus.
