Hey Guys, I went to the Canals In Venice California. Hope you guys enjoy the walk as i did. Its just a 15 minute walk from Venice Beach and well worth a visit. I will be uploading another version with no music soon.
Enjoy!
Here is some info the Venice Canals.
The Venice Canal Historic District is a district in the Venice section of Los Angeles, California. The district is noteworthy for its man-made canals built in 1905 by developer Abbot Kinney as part of his Venice of America plan. Kinney sought to recreate the appearance and feel of Venice, Italy, in Southern California.
The canals are roughly bounded by Eastern Court on the east, Court A on the south, Strongs Drive on the west, and Court E on the north. There are four east-west canals (Carroll Canal, Linnie Canal, Howland Canal, and Sherman Canal) and two north-south canals (Eastern Canal and Grand Canal). The lit canals with gondoliers and arched bridges drew widespread publicity and helped sell lots in the development.
Hope You Enjoyed It!

This is a lovely area, totally worth visiting. Venice Beach is a very interesting neighborhood, with a variety of things to see and to do. The canals are nicely manicured with beautiful houses all around, which make this a must see when visiting LA.

VENICE CANALS IN LOS ANGELES
VENICE CANALS IN LOS ANGELES
This video was shot on the same day as our previous video at Venice Beach. We decided to do separate videos as the mood and tempo was different. Venice Beach is bursting with energy whilst a 15 minute walk away will take you to the very quaint and quiet Venice Canals. It really feels like your stepping into another country. It was beautiful. A lovely way to end the day and get away from what can be a very chaotic Los Angeles pace.

Take a Walk on the Venice Canals in Los Angeles, CA
We Like L.A. helps you find the best things to do in Los Angeles!
In this video we take a walk on the Venice Canals.
The Venice Canal Historic District is hands-down one of the most unique residential neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The original canals were conceived as part of Abbot Kinney's broader vision for 'Venice of America' which included a auditorium and ship cafe near the pier, gondola tours, and trolley service to/from Santa Monica and Downtown. Even though Venice of America was a big hit when it first opened, popularity waned after Kinney's death in November of 1920. By the end of the decade that followed most or all of the canals had been filled in.
Although the Venice Canal District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, it wasn't until 1992 that a full-on renovation project took place. Renovations included dredging the canals, adding new sidewalks and walls, and the removal of toxic soil. All told it cost around $6 million, but that price tag helped make the canals what they look like today.
If you're planning to go check out the canals for yourself here are a couple tips:
1) It'll get a bit chilly there on cool evenings or during the winter months so you'll definitely want to bring an extra layer if you plan on hanging out there for more than a short while.
2) The closet parking would be in the residential neighborhood along Ocean Blvd. That's where we parked for this shoot, but we were there on a Wednesday at 8 a.m. so parking was a non-issue. On weekends it's going to get crowded, and so you might try your luck at one of the meters on Washington Blvd, limited street parking on Venice Blvd, or in one of the nearby pay lots closer to the beach.
3) The boat parade we mentioned in the video happens annually on the first Saturday of December. The surroundings lights on the bridges are usually up for a good month though. Here's the link:

Venice Canals Walkway, Los Angeles!
Venice of America - Venice Canals Walkway Trail is a 2.2 mile canal walkway in Venice, Los Angeles, California with man-made bridges.
The water enters the canals through sea gates in the Marina Del Rey breakwater, and again in Washington blvd. They open at low tide to drain most of the water and at high tide they are closed, trapping the water for about three days, before being refreshed again.
Italian-inspired artificial canals were built in 1905, with sidewalks & bridges for pedestrians. Though the experiment of the developer Abbot Kinney failed, it is a splendid place to take a walk. It is less than a mile away from Venice's Muscle Beach and Boardwalk.
Evenings add more beauty to the bridges and houses as they are all lit up, especially during Christmas season.
Happy Traveling & Exploring ????

Venice Canal Historic District, Los Angeles California
Have you've been to Venice California and wondered why it's named after the City of Canals in Italy? There actually are a system of canals here, inspired by the Italian city, man-made in 1905. The canals was in poor condition from the 40's until they where finally renovated in 1992. The area is quite idyllic today and well worth a visit. The Canals are also known as Linnie Canal Park.
