Pensacola Veterans Memorial Park | WSRE
In December of 1987, The Moving Wall — a replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, arrived in Pensacola and was displayed for five days. When it came time for the wall to travel on, some of the veterans who had stood vigil while the wall was in town, decided it was time Pensacola have a permanent monument to honor Vietnam vets.
It was the start of a vision, the beginning of a tribute to those who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces. With the help and support of family, friends, service members, and community and business leaders, their dream became a reality and the Pensacola Veterans Memorial Park was established on Bayfront Parkway. Today, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial is there, and over the years, the park grew to include monuments for WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Gulf War and the conflict in Iraq. WSRE will trace the history of this park with archival photographs and footage, as well as interviews with those who made the dream a reality.

The bronze bell is the heart of the Marine Aviation Memorial Bell Tower, cast in Cincinnati by the Verdin Bell Foundry on Wheels, the only mobile bell foundry in the world.
The sound of a ringing bell meant that emergency flight crews had to rush to a helicopter and come to the aid of the fallen on the battlefield no matter the circumstance. The bell clapper for the Marine Aviation Memorial Bell included the wings of seven fallen Marines. This National Memorial to Marine Aviation is spearheaded by the MCAA McCutcheon Squadron of North Carolina to honor those Marines that have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving. The Marine Aviation Memorial Bell Tower is funded by generous contributions from residents and community businesses in greater Pensacola Bay area.

USA: Catholics rally against proposed satanic statue at Belle Plaine's Veterans Memorial Park
Hundreds of Catholic demonstrators gathered to protest against planned installation of a satanic statue at Belle Plaine's Veterans Memorial Park, Minnesota, Saturday.
Protesters held placards reading Satan is evil, evil has no rights and Satan takes souls to hell while singing and praying.
On Friday the City Council removed a statue named Joe of a soldier kneeling by a cross, following action from a religious freedom group who maintain the church and state should be kept separate.
Activist group the Satanic Temple has proposed to replace Joe with a black cube inscribed with pentagrams and topped with an upside-down soldier’s helmet.
