An eyewitnesses of the Blagoveshchensk school shooting said the suspected gunman, identified as a 19-year-old student of the Amur construction college, was a “quiet boy.”
The student killed one classmate and injured three others before turning the gun on himself.
“He had a gun which managed to pass the school guards. I don’t know how he did it. If I am not wrong, it was a Saiga [Saiga semi-automatic rifle] or another gun,” one eyewitness said.
Recalling the moment of the attack, another eyewitness said: “Everyone was having classes, and he [the shooter] arrived there and started to…I saw them carrying bodies out of the building, not in bags, just like that, I am not sure whether the people were dead or alive.
According to Russia's Investigative Committee, the 19-year-old male student had brought a legal hunting rifle with him to the college.
After police were alerted to the scene, they reportedly confronted the gunman and injured him in a brief shootout, before the student took his own life.
Local authorities have said they will beef up security at other schools and colleges in the wake of the deadly shooting.

Chinese migrants inundate Russia's Far East
In Central Russia, there are many migrants from Asian republics of the former Soviet Union. In the Far East of the country, the Russians can feel the short distance to China and Korea. Many Chinese nationals migrate to Russia to work and do business there. In the Far East of Russia, Chinese goods are in demand most. They are widely known for their low prices and good quality. Besides, it's also cheap labor. Many experts compare such changes with colonization.
Andrei Konyushok, Associate Professor, Department of Economics of the Blagoveshchensk University:
Along the border there are not many checkpoints. According to Russian entrepreneurs, border guards stick to tough rules. Quite on the contrary, there is the process going on to contain tourism in Russia at the expense of consumer brutality towards the Chinese. Migration services count each and everyone of them. Governors limit the quota to all entrepreneurs to invite foreign workers from China. In Russia's Amur region, for example, the governor banned the employment of Chinese nationals for all local farmers.
However, tightening border regulations is not such big of a deal. There are other regions of the country, where migrants can go. And, if tourism is on the decline, what stands behind the growth of air communication between Beijing and the Far East of Russia?
Andrew Konyushok :
The living conditions in China makes people resort to all sorts of tricks including illegal ones, in order to stay in Russia and make more money. They are generally very risky people - either from poverty, or from their nature. For them, losing two thousand dollars is not fatal at all, They are risky smugglers. So we often hear reports about the attempts to smuggle goods from China to Russia.
In general, migration policy requires a lot of attention in all regions of Russia. Otherwise, the wish to reduce the inflow of migrants would look like an attempt to hold water in a broken glass.

It is with calm and dignity that our Mother, Great Russia has learned the news of the declaration of war the Emperor began in a clear and ringing voice.
I am persuaded that it is with the same feeling of calm that we shall conduct ourselves until the end of this war, which is what it is.
I solemnly declare here that I shall not make a sign of peace until the last enemy soldier has left our soil……………..
……….The square in front of the Palace was black with the world. Flags, banners, standards all fluttered above the crowd. In the first row, people held portraits of Their Majesties. It was a sea of people. Silence was complete. The crowd seemed to be waiting for something else. And something else occurred.
On one of the balconies the Emperor appeared; behind him came the Empress in a white dress.
Heads immediately became uncovered, everyone knelt, the flags and standards lowered almost to the ground. The Tsar was greeted by hurrahs and by the hymn and the prayer Spassi, Gospodi, ludi tvoya (Lord, save your people)
The entire crowd sang.
….Give to our pious Emperor, Nicholas Alexandrovitch, Victory over his enemies.
The prayer came to the balcony.
Their Majesties could not hold back their tears. They were crying on the square…they crossed themselves…The Tsar and the People were united in one sole desire, one sole goal, one sole prayer.………..
Music: Andante from the Piano Concerto No.2 in F, Op.102 by Shostakovich.
With reference to the dates, I use the Gegorian Calendar (New style). Before 1918, Russia still used the Julian Callender (old style) which in the 20th century was 13 days behind the more widely used Gregorian .
