Vientiane (/vjɛnˈtjɑːn/; French pronunciation: [vjɛ̃ˈtjan]; Lao: ວຽງຈັນ, Viang chan, IPA: [ʋíəŋ tɕàn]) is the capital and largest city of Laos, on the banks of the Mekong River near the border with Thailand. Vientiane became the capital in 1563 due to fears of a Burmese invasion.[2] Vientiane was the administrative capital during French rule and, due to economic growth in recent times, is now the economic centre of Laos.
The estimated population of the city is 760,000 (2015). The city hosted the 25th Southeast Asian Games in December 2009 celebrating the 50 years of Southeast Asian Games.

Here I take a look around the Talat Sao, meaning morning market, Vientiane's first shopping complex. The market consists of many small shops specialising in jewelry & gold items, modern & traditional silk made cloths, wooden handicrafts, general clothing, souveniers, home appliances & electronic goods, housewares and CD & DVD outlets. Next to the original market is the Talat Sao Mall, a recently completed Singapore built shopping complex offering small shop outlets.........

This is Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. This is the hustle and bustle of downtown Vientiane Laos in around 8:00am in the morning.
Now, this is the city, the centre of Vientiane, Capital. There are no tall highrise or great big developments. It's pretty much what you see. Pretty much untouched for many decades.
Downtown Vientiane is home to the famous Talat Sao Shopping Mall, (Talat Sao) Morning Market, Khua Din (Morning) Market as well as the Vientiane Capital Bus Station.
The Vientiane Capital Bus Station is where you can catch the bus to various parts of Laos, such as Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang & Pakse.
