Vietnam Travel Guide: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh
Gorgeous beaches, fascinating and complicated history, incredible food, lush nature; Vietnam is a country that truly has it all. Whether this country is first or fiftieth on your list, our travel guide has all the information you need to know if you’re planning (or dreaming of planning!) a trip to Vietnam.
Leave your expectations behind if you’re heading to Vietnam: here, you’ll eat noodles for breakfast, do your shopping in the middle of the night, and discover a country with a new story around every corner.
Hanoi more than delivers on urban excitement. If you’re looking for unique and mouth-watering food, the night markets of the Vietnamese capital should be your very first stop. You can enjoy a zippy ride on a scooter, all the street-food you can eat, and a night exploring the rapid development of this modern city. From trendy clubs to traditional puppet shows, experience a nightlife that’s all Vietnam’s own, and eat and drink the night away with locals and visitors alike!
Of course, Vietnam isn’t all fast-paced cities and rooftop bars. For a slower pace, head to Ha Long Bay and sail alongside limestone islets, with their lush rainforests towering above your head. The water is emerald-green, matching the vibrant greenery, and a sailing excursion here is like nothing else you’ve experienced before! A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the islets of Ha Long Bay are said have been thrown into the bay by a dragon protecting the people of Vietnam. Take a junk boat tour for a close encounter, or try scuba diving or snorkelling in the bay!
You’ll find a new adventure around every corner in Vietnam. From breakfast in the Bình Tây Market and a secret tunnel system in Ho Chi Minh City, to sailing along the Mekong Delta in a traditional basket boat, you can find your perfect trip - no matter what that looks like - somewhere in Vietnam.
There’s no time like the present to start planning an adventure of your own in this majestic country, so why not start today? Head over to TourRadar to explore the range of tours available, or watch more of our videos exploring Vietnam if you still haven’t gotten enough of seeing the beautiful views and incredible adventures you could be having.

MEGA SHOPPING MALL IN HANOI | Exploring the Underground Vincom Mega Mall | Vietnam Travel Vlog
In our 4th Vietnam travel vlog we spend the morning exploring the underground Vincom Mega Mall in Hanoi. With over 800 retail stores and 200 restaurants it was quite a task. We only managed to visit a fraction of the place and were pretty jaded by the end of it all tbh. I think we are better suited for the street markets.

Traveling Vietnam: Hanoi to Halong Bay
Traveling Vietnam: Hanoi to Halong Bay.
Hey guys! Today we're taking you with us to Halong Bay. This is our last stop in Vietnam, before flying back to Bangkok and preparing for the next adventure... India.
This was our first time exploring Halong Bay, I imagine many years ago it was a pristine wonder of the world. The limestone cliffs rising out of the emerald waters are awe-inspiring. Unfortunately the breathtakingly beautiful waterscape has been tainted, with trash... lots of it. Some areas were cleaner than others, the area we kayaked through was especially gorgeous. Ti Top island had a nice viewpoint, however, the beach itself was over crowded, and while there were many people swimming there, we opted to skip the swimming. One of highlights of the trip was exploring the cave.
While it was worth experiencing Halong Bay, it was our first and last time. Thanks for coming on the adventure with us!
xoxo,
Christine

We found a bunch of unique and delicious Vietnamese street foods that you really need to try, all around Hanoi's old quarter! Despite this area being quite tourist, we found a lot of delicious food, so far, this has been the BEST street food city I've visited in Southeast asia!
In this Vietnam Street Food tour video, Myself (Trevor James, The Food Ranger), am taking you on a food street journey to many delicious, mouthwatering street food places around Hanoi in Northern Vietnam. If you're deciding whether or not to travel to Vietnam for the street food, you really need to come visit Hanoi. You can enjoy unique Vietnamese street foods hidden in Hanoi's old quarter alleyways and try classic Vietnam cuisine specialties like Pho for Breakfast, Bun Cha for lunch, A ton of different rice noodle dishes, and a ton of other hidden delights.
Over the past 3 years, I've filmed and eaten street food around China, including locations like Chengdu, Lanzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Beijing, Wuhan, Leshan, Shanghai, and Xinjiang's Silk Road. So far, the street food in each of these locations has been the best street food around the world! BUT, I haven't shot a ton of street food in Southeast Asia, so we made it our goal to come to Vietnam to try the street foods. So far, it has totally been worth it!
Vietnamese cuisine is so delicious, and even though I've only been here a short while, I'm sure that it would really need a lifetime to eat all of it. I've decided to stay living in China, and move around to other countries like Vietnam for another year or two or even more, shooting delicious street food in china for you and across asia as well!
Here are the addresses and locations and restaurant names for the Vietnam street food I had in this Hanoi, Vietnam travel video. Most locations were deep in Hanoi's old quarter alleyways!
1) Famous Vietnamese Breakfast Pho @
Pho thin 13 lo duc
2) Delicious Bun Cha AKA Vermicelli Noodles with BBQ pork:
Bún Chả Hàng Quạt, 74 Hang Quat, Hanoi, Vietnam
3) Very delicious Bahn Xeo (rice flour crepes/pancakes)
22 Hang Bo Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, Vietnam
4) Bun Ca AKA fish noodle soup with dill
5 NGÕ TRUNG YĒN HOÀN KIÉM
5) Hanoi Style Egg Coffee
Cafe Giang
39 Nguyễn Hữu Huân, Lý Thái Tổ, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
6) Che Dessert (coconut milk with a ton of fruit jellies)
Dong Xuan Alleyway (Hàng Chiếu, Đồng Xuân, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội)
7) Fermented Shrimp Paste Meal (Bún đậu mắm tôm )
27/31 Hàng Khay, Tràng Tiền, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi, Vietnam

Vietnam: A tour of the night market in Hanoi
Here's a little video to show you a bit of the Hanoi Night Market. If you're ever in Hanoi during the weekend, be sure to check it out. It's held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 7 pm till 12 midnight. You can buy all sorts of things for cheap, such as assorted crafts, art, sunglasses, t-shirts, shorts, pants, knick knacks, handmade greeting cards, toys, bags, socks, jewelry, iPhone cases, and the list goes on. Be sure to haggle though. Never accept the first price offered to you or you will be overpaying by quite a bit! To get there, just head to the north end of Hoan Kiem Lake where you'll see a big roundabout with insane traffic and the market is just north of that. Good luck crossing the road! LOL

South East Asia Tour - Hanoi, Vietnam
We finally got to meet up with Eric Kim and his wife Cindy, they moved to Hanoi about 6 months ago. It was great to see them again, we last saw them just before they moved, and it was nice to have some tour guides. They took us to some great restaurants and cafes, we had some really good meals. The Pizza 4P's was the best pizza I've had in years, almost as good as the pizza in Rome!
Pho Ly Quoc Su was the best Pho of the trip, better than Pho Le in Ho Chi Minh City. The burger at Chops was really good too, it was nice to have an American meal for a change.
Uu Dam Chay, the vegetarian place, is really nice and fancy. Everyone but me enjoyed the food there, I'm just really not into vegetarian food, especially when you pay more for no meat, it was more expensive than any other restaurant we had in Hanoi.
We only had 3 nights in Hanoi, then headed to Halong Bay for a 1 night cruise, back to Hanoi for one last dinner with Eric and Cindy, then the night train to Sapa.

Hi! We grew up on opposite ends of the United States in Texas and Ohio. Later in college, we met and got married in August of 2016. As poor newly weds and recent college grads, we moved to New York City to begin what we thought would be our long careers in finance. Only one year later, after accumulating over 2 million miles and points through travel hacking, we booked round-the-world business class tickets to over 40 countries for free. We quit our jobs, sold everything we owned, and began this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on August 27, 2018. If Ho Chi Minh City is the cosmopolitan hub of Vietnam, then Hanoi is center of tradition and culture. While the city is sprawling, many parts retain its old city feel.
I started the day strolling through the Old Quarter, the tourist center of the city where many restaurant, shops, and bars can be found. I stopped by Ca Phe Pho Co, a wonderful cafe with a view of Hoan Kiem Lake, that serves egg milk cofffee. Then, I made a pass around the lake, stopping by the Temple of the Jade Mountain and learning a little bit about local ancient folklore. From there, I headed to lunch at the Hanoi Social Club, a cafe retreat that serves a delicious Western menu. Next I made my way to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, though I could get into the building because it's closed in the afternoons. And then it was just a short stretch to the stellar West Lake, where many people go for outdoor recreation and socializing. In the middle of the Lake is Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest temple in Hanoi. Finally, I ended the day with a blind massage and a delicious bowl of bun bo nam bo! I'd say it was a pretty good day!
