Places to see in ( Virginia Beach - USA )
Virginia Beach, a coastal city in southeastern Virginia, lies where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. A 3-mile boardwalk stretches along its beach-lined oceanfront. The bayside First Landing State Park marks the 1607 arrival of the Jamestown colonists from England. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center exhibits ocean life including sharks, rays and sea turtles in globally themed habitats.
Virginia Beach offers the classic beach vacation, and maintains a long-standing reputation as a family-friendly oceanfront resort. Visitors are greeted by a 300-foot wide beach lined by Virginia Beach’s three-mile concrete oceanfront Boardwalk. The resort offers a mild climate year-round. Itineraries include lazy days on the beach, the state parks and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge beckon, hiking, kayaking, and biking adventures. Fishing, golfing, whale watching, dolphin watching, historic landmarks, and exciting attractions and popular events are part of the Beach experience.
With 35 miles of sandy beaches, a 3-mile concrete oceanfront boardwalk and nearby outdoor activities, it's no surprise that Virginia Beach is a prime tourist destination. The city has worked hard to shed its reputation as a rowdy 'Redneck Riviera,' and hey, the beach is wider and cleaner now and there are fewer louts. Beach aside, you'll find some lovely parks and nature sites beyond the crowded high-rises lining the shore. Expect thick crowds, heavy traffic and high prices if visiting in the summer.

Virginia Museum - Part 1
The new wing of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts opened 1 May 2010, just days before I made this movie. It is now the main entrance, and it is stunning. VMFA is now ranked 10th best museum in the US. It has a great collection of Ancient, Medieval, Modern, Americana, South Asian, Faberge, Tiffany, Art Nouveau and more. Some collections were not yet back on display after the renovations. The original Museum is Georgian in style but several additions in modern styles have been added over the years as the collections expanded.
Finding LOVE - Virginia Beach
LOVE Works 10, 11, 12
Officer Thicc and I headed out to find the LOVE signs in Virginia Beach! We had fun getting in touch with our competitive spirits with all the activities the Beach provides. We didn't have time for a few items such as go-kart racing and boat tours. Plus, I wanted to try either horseback riding or indoor skydiving, but expenses were adding up! I would also like to visit the supposedly Ferry Plantation house in October.
Virginia Beach proved to be expensive, but I stayed under the $100 budget. Even though Virginia Beach is the main attraction in Hampton Roads, I would not rank it above Norfolk. I enjoy the attractions more, especially the museums, and lesser traffic in Norfolk. That may be different for you. We'll certainly continue to visit Virginia Beach for the state parks, fishing, hiking, food, and mini-golf.
My advice to the Virginia Beach tourist is to get into the city during non-rush hour times. The tunnels, freeways, and local roads can be a nightmare and folks aren't necessarily the best drivers here. So good luck and have fun in Virginia's largest city!
Total Spent: $78.70 (The Farmers' Market wasn't included in the video due to poor recording, but it's worth a visit)
King Neptune's Mini-Golf: $5 (with $2 off coupon)
Military Aviation Museum: $15
Museum of Contemporary Arts: $7.70 (BOGO coupon)
Parking at the Oceanfront: $6
Tribal Axe: $20 for 1 hour
Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center: $25
Virginia Beach Farmers' Market: varies
Restaurant(s) tried:
Lunch - Repeal Burgers and Bourbon (excellent)
Lunch - Margie & Ray's Crabhouse (excellent)
Dinner - Captain George's Seafood Restaurant
Dinner - Blue Pete's Restaurant (excellent)

The region's migration experience
Like most immigrants, after many circumstances I was experiencing in my birth country, I chose to start a new life in a new land. That country was the United States.
Art is my life. I live for art not from art. Since my arrival, I have dedicated all my potential to sponsoring art and artists in all the creative fields. I promote, encourage, and mentor all of them that never were touched by art, or don't believe in themselves, or are afraid to show because they are afraid of comments. I open shows and spaces to display their work regardless of their experience and background, as long as they have the idea and or need to explore creativity. Many became very well known creative people, some found their lives changed, with a lot more to live for, because whoever is involved in art lives a great life. If you have a disastrous place, as soon as you move art in, it becomes enchanted and shines. It is the same with life.
I founded Alvaro Ibañez Museum (AIM), where everyone in the world can visit my personal collection. An international creativity community bringing together painters, poets, dancers, sculptors, photographers, actors, all kind of writers, and their audiences and friends for rest and renewal. We do workshops and seminars as well as displaying and promoting other artists.
I can show my art abroad by invitation, or for events like the Region's Immigration Experience.
My work is so personal that I consider it impossible to be judged by any one; this creation has a meaning regardless of techniques or mediums. It is not commercial art. I believe that Art it is different, that is why it is unique. It does not have to be pretty, not even likable; of course, it is obviously greater if it is any of those.
I was born in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia on January 18, 1951. At the age of 5, I moved with my parents to Santa Marta beach, a beautiful city were I grow up, at the age of 7 won my first artistic price, a diploma and a 36 Prismacolor set, with a drawing of El Morro a light house at the center of the bay.
I have worked as a designer and draftsman since my mid-twenties, specializing in graphic arts, patent design, and trademark illustrations Architecture, Interior Design, all Engineering fields projects. .
My biographical profile has been included in Who's Who in the World; Who's Who in America; Who's Who in the South and Southwest; Who's who in the arts; Who's Who in Finance and Business since 1994.
My personal collection of my own original work contains over 900 pieces in media such as pastel, oils, acrylics, water color, ink, silk screen, stain glass, markers, crayons, any media available at each moment of creation.
Inspired by my teacher davidmanzur.com , DaVinci, Dali, and Van Gogh, I express my love of life and beauty through a broad range of styles, ranging from realism to surrealism. Within my collection are pieces ranging in size from a few inches to many feet, with themes running the gamut of human experience and going beyond into the realm of myth. One example is Kalevala series based on the Finnish creation myth.
I immigrated to the United States in August 29 of 1981, leaving behind a large body of work. My current collection dates from my arrival in Virginia and tells the story of my struggles as a new immigrant supporting a family and learning a new language.
My work tells of my dreams and the sources of my inspiration. Images of women dominate much of my work; I love Woman, beginning with my mother. I mold my feelings easily on the canvas. Another group of paintings depicts the powerful, mythical unicorn. This image was the primary inspiration for my dream of building a retreat center for artists and Sunrise Studio Gallery. And my wonderful poet, writer and several languages translator wife Denise Aileen DeVries From Colorado

Introduction to Arlington, Virginia
Arlington is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, on the west bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington, D.C. Although sometimes referred to as a city, Arlington is actually a county which contains no incorporated towns or cities within its boundaries. Originally part of the 10-mile square area set aside in 1791 for the nation’s capital, the land now comprising Arlington County was returned to the Commonwealth of Virginia by the U.S. Congress in 1846 and was known at the time as Alexandria County. In 1852, the independent City of Alexandria was incorporated from a portion of the County, leading to confusion, as two adjacent municipal entities continued to share the same name (Alexandria). The confusion was resolved in 1920, when Alexandria County renamed itself Arlington County, borrowing its name from the Arlington National Cemetery, which had been established during the Civil War on the grounds of Confederate General Robert E. Lee's former home, Arlington House.
Although best known generally as the home of the Pentagon, The Iwo Jima War Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery, the County is also an important employment center. The Federal Government accounts for the lion's share of the roughly 200,000 jobs in Arlington, but high-tech companies have become increasingly prominent, as have several major associations, Fortune 500 companies, and other nationally known employers. The County’s residential population is among the most highly educated in the nation and is increasingly diverse. Arlington is the home of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and is serviced by the Orange, Blue and Yellow lines of the Washington Metro. The County is traversed by two Interstate highways, I-66 and I-395; as well as by the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
Arlington Area Attractions
The name Arlington is synonymous in many people's minds with Arlington National Cemetery, the most famous national cemetery in the United States. Veterans from all the nation's wars are buried in the cemetery, as are two former Presidents (John F. Kennedy and William Howard Taft). Also located in Arlington are the Pentagon, headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, and several notable memorials, including the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial), the U.S. Air Force Memorial, and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial.
Other attractions in Arlington include the Arlington Arts Center, founded in 1976 and housed in the historic Maury School; the Arlington Historical Museum, housed in a two-story brick structure built in 1891 and currently standing as the oldest school building in Arlington County. The Ball-Sellers house, a one-room log cabin with a loft built by a farmer named John Ball in 1742, is a rare example of an ordinary person's dwelling of the 1700s. The Ellipse Arts Center is a 3,000 square foot visual arts facility which opened in 1990, and presents a diverse schedule of high quality programs in the visual arts. A wealth of other attractions abound in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including the following:
The National Mall
Ford's Theatre
The National Archives
National Air and Space Museum
International Spy Museum
Lincoln Theatre
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Chinatown
African American Civil War Memorial
Blair House
Folger Shakespeare Library
National Geographic Society
Frederick Douglass National Historic Site
National Building Museum
Visitors to Arlington can take the very short trip to the other side of the Potomac, where the city of Washington hosts several major league professional sports franchises. These include football's Redskins (NFL), baseball's Nationals (MLB), basketball's Wizards (NBA) and Mystics (WNBA), hockey's Capitals (NHL), soccer's DC United (MLS), and lacrosse's Bayhawks (MLL).
