Okonomiyaki is one of the most difficult dishes to explain to someone who never had it before, some will call it a pancake, some will call it a pizza, maybe for some it is a grilled pie?
There is only one name to call it: OKONOMIYAKI, and only one way to describe it: DELICIOUS!
Originated in Hiroshima and made popular in Kansai this dish means in Japanese Favorite Grill, because it is your favorite food grilled into a crisp crust with fluffy moist mass holding from seafood to the kitchen sink, while Japanese uses balance and restrain to elaborate refined dishes, this one in particular relies on extravagant mixes and flavors, no wonder being adopted as the local soul food at the flamboyant city of Osaka!
FUN FACT: in Hiroshima an egg is laid open over the Okonomiyaki, people in Osaka call it Hiroshima Style a denomination people in Hiroshima despise for the sake of originating this dish in there giving NO RIGHT for fellow Osakanites to misinterpret it.
