Look Inside The Wagner-Noel Performing Arts Center
The Wager-Noel Performing Arts Center is nearing completion after more than two year's of construction and it's receiving attention worldwide. In just a few months, west Texans will be filling the seats, enjoying live entertainment that before this, have never had access to, right here at home.
You can feel the vibe, the anticipation of what's going to be, said Carol Roberts-Spence, Executive Director.
The Wagner-Noel staff is counting down the days until the performing arts center's doors open.
What's left is the interior finishes, final paint and carpeting, said David Wayland, Senior Project Manager.
Just a short wait before a world of professional entertainment takes the stage for west Texans.
It's the community's building, all genre, all types of entertainment, said Roberts-Spence.
The center will feature major concerts, Broadway shows, symphonies and comedy shows, just to name a few.
People won't have to drive to Dallas. I want people in Dallas to want to jump on planes to Midland because a show is only playing here, said Roberts-Spence.
The center is well over 100,000 square feet. It features a 1,800-seat auditorium, recital halls and classrooms for UTPB's Performing Arts Department.
State of the art acoustics, sound system, said Wayland.
The Wagner-Noel is top of the line and a first for the Permian Basin.
The architects, constructors, everyone are the best in the world, said Roberts-Spence.
And it's getting worldwide recognition.
If you get a copy of 'Venues Today', open the front page and there we are, said Roberts-Spence.

This is a brilliant moment for me. I am so very proud to be announcing that I will be performing in my very own tour in the USA. This really is fantastic. The past five years have been incredible and it just keeps getting better. I have spoken so often about wanting to tour America and be able to visit different cities for the first time, I'm so excited. This really will be fantastic and I can't wait for October. The USA embraced and supported me from the beginning and it really feels like a second home so I can't wait to get on the road and perform there.
