THRILL ADVENTURES NEPAL: A Walk Between Thamel & Kathmandu Durbar Square
Thamel is distinguished by its narrow alleys crowded with various shops and vendors. Commonly sold goods include food, fresh vegetables/fruits, pastries, trekking gear, walking gear, music, DVDs, handicrafts, souvenirs, woolens, clothes. Travel agencies, small grocery stores, budget hotels and restaurants also line the streets. Cars, cycles rickshaws, two-wheelers and taxis ply these narrow streets alongside hundreds of pedestrians.
Kathmandu durbar square is a must see and hard to miss location in the heart of the capital city. The immediate large square is surrounded by ancient Newari architecture, high temples, popular shrines and the old royal palace. Today Kathmandu durbar square is still an active and living square. Filled with people worshiping in shrines, selling goods or simply walking through. It's a living part of Kathmandu city.

Langtang Valley Trek in Nepal - Heaven on Earth | A Complete Trekking Details
Trek in Nepal to Langtang Valley has been successfully accomplished by a group of six ladies from Malaysia and the trek was organized by Mountain Ram Adventures. The group had one guide and six porters. I was very happy to have joined with this group even though i was not on the Kyanjin Ri with them. But i enjoyed the silence of the mountain while climbing up to Kyanjin Ri 4773m. Oh by the way, Langshisakharka Valley was an unforgettable. What a beautiful weather we had while walking on that valley, had an amazing experience.
Langtang valley trekking in Nepal, is the perfect option if you are looking for a short, relatively easy, teahouse trek. It is a great introduction to Himalayan trekking, with the added bonus of breathtaking mountain views right from day one. Situated just a day's drive North of Kathmandu, this excellent trek follows the narrow Langtang valley heading up towards the Langtang glacier and the Tibetan border. About one fourth of the park is covered in forests of oak, maple, rhododendron, chir pine, hemlock and spruce and is home to a wide variety of animal and bird life. It is possible to see the endangered Himalayan red panda, pika, muntjack, musk deer, Himalayan black beer, Himalayan tahr, ghoral, serow, rhesus monkey and the common langur. Many different bird species can also be spotted as this region is a major route for migratory birds.

Walking in Namche Bazaar, Nepal | GoPro H4 Silver + Zhiyun Rider-M Gimbal
Here's some footage of walking around Namche Bazaar in Nepal with my GoPro HERO4 Silver edition camera and the Zhiyun Rider-M gimbal.
I haven't added any background music because I thought it was cool to hear all the background noise - people talking, construction noise, wind, water running, etc - which in my mind gives it a more authentic feel.
Ok, don't watch this if you are waiting for something exciting to happen but it was a really awesome experience just walking around the streets and looking at all the shops selling adventure gear.
Using the Gimbal definitely gives much better footage than just using the camera handheld as you can see every step. I wouldn't use it all the time for everything but it works here.
Let me know what you think it the comments.
Thank you for watching.

Dream Trip: Nepal | Salomon TV
Trail runners from around the world were asked: What is your #RunningDreamTrip? Tyler Courville's Dream Trip was to travel to Nepal with Mira Rai, and was subsequently selected from thousands of entries. Mira's story seems impossible; A Nepali village girl, turned child soldier, and now a globally recognised professional trail runner. Just a few months ago, she was voted National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. Mira shows Tyler her country as they travel to her village in the remote mountains of Eastern Nepal getting to know the culture, mountains and people along the way.

Mardi Himal Trek | Nepal's Hidden GEM
Nepal 360 presents Mardi Himal Trek (Trekking in Nepal) during the month of March, 2017.
Shot on GoPro HERO 4 stabilized with Zhiyun Tech Rider M Gimbal.
Watch Cinematic version here:
Mardi Himal Trek is located east of one of the most popular treks of Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp trek, the Mardi Himal trek is a hidden gem. The trail goes along small winding paths, through enchanted rhododendron forests until you climb out of the forest at an elevation around 3,300 meter. The landscape changes quite abruptly into a rugged high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
The 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek Trek starts with a day ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We begin the walk from Dhampus (1600 mts). We head upward to Forest Camp (2550 mts), Low Camp (2900 mts) and High Camp (3580 mts). From High Camp you can hike all the way up to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 mts). There are few treks where landscape dramatically changes from magical forests into a rugged high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. We had a fantastic and a very memorable trekking experience :)
Shot in UHD resolution on a GoPro Hero 4 Black camera it's aimed to deliver the most realistic experience.

Everest Base Camp Trek: The Logistics
Hiking gear
Since Jeff and I were traveling and spent a month in Bali before our Everest basecamp trek, we were wildly unprepared for the trek. We did have base layers and some long sleeves, but not much else! However, it is good to know that you can find everything you need in Katmandu, Lukla or even higher, up to Namche Bazaar at 3,400m - however, it does get a little more expensive as you go up, of course.
We strongly recommend to rent sleeping bags and down jackets - we rented both of those for about $2.50 per day per person at the Kala Pattar shop in Thamel, Katmandu. We also bought the rest of our hiking gear, including hiking backpacks, hiking boots, gloves, hats, neck warmers, fleece-doubled hiking pants and warm socks at the same shop - the more you buy, the more you can haggle!
Aside from finding a good backpack to carry everything on your back, it is an absolute must that you also have an easy access bag, like a bumbag, for all those things you’ll be needing easy access to like your phone, chapstick, tissues, money, permits, snacks, camera, etc. We highlight recommend Eastpak products, and neither of us travel anywhere without their bumbags around our necks.
Altitude
It is important to inform yourself and your group members about the effects of altitude and AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Early symptoms from 2,500m can include a strong headache, and you need to stop climbing. Start descending immediately if you experience dizziness, shortness of breath while resting, nausea or exhaustion in addition to the headache. AMS can lead to HAPE (high altitude pulmonary oedema) or HACE (high altitude cerebral oedema), which are both life threatening, but usually only occur at very high altitude. Make sure to be aware and to follow the recommendations to avoid AMS, and don’t climb more than 500 meters a day above 3,000 meters. If you are feeling unwell, you can inform the lodge owners, they are very helpful and most can organize a helicopter rescue if needed.
Diamox should not be taken by pregnant women or anyone with liver or kidney issues.
Everest Base Camp Trek: The Full Itinerary
Day 1 - Katmandu (4,593ft / 1,400m) - Lukla (9,334ft / 2,845m) to Phakding (8,563ft / 2,610m) to Monjo (9,301ft / 2,835m)
Trekking time: 3 hours from Lukla to Phakding + 3 hours from Phakding to Monjo. Total 6 hours
The trek to Everest base camp starts with a relatively nerve wracking flight, in the smallest plane we’ve ever taken - only 7 seats, and one flight attendant! You will be offered mints and cotton for your ears as the plane takes off from Katmandu and zigzags in between mountains to approach Tenzing–Hillary Airport in Lukla.
Tip: Make sure to seat on the plane’s left side for the best views of the Himalayas!
You will see Lukla’s famous short landing strip with its 11.7% gradient appear in front of you. While it can make you nervous, embrace the feeling of landing on the 500m strip, it will definitely be a good story to tell!
Once you get out of the plane, you will find yourself in the second smallest airport in the world. From there, grab your bag, and let’s head on the trek!
You should normally arrive early morning, before 8.30am, so you can be in Phakding for lunch.
Start walking on the path and enjoy the first 2 hours going downhill - how easy, you will think. Beware, as you will have to go up during the last 2 hours of the trek!
Stop in Phakding for lunch halfway, and continue another 3 hours of uphill hiking to Monjo, through beautiful sceneries with prayer wheels and suspended bridges where you can spend your first night.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Nepal Travel Vlog Day 3 - Monjo to Namche Bazaar (Most Grueling Day ever)
Day 3 of my Nepal Travel Vlog.
Today Chris, Amy and I left the Yeti Mountain Home at Monjo (2830m) to continue our walk higher into the Mountains. The distance we need to cover to Namche Bazaar (3440m) is only approximately 8km but the gain in altitude is over 600m.
We were staying at the Panorama Lodge which is actually right up at the top of the village (3600m??).
Loads more suspension bridges and scenery to die for makes this walk bearable. This climb itself is grueling and I found myself suffering from MILD altitude sickness (headache, shortness of breath, loss of appetite). It was a lot harder than I expected but so worth it.
We were honoured to meet and spend time talking with Kancha Sherpa who is the last living person from the 1953 expedition that saw Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reach the summit of Mount Everest.
NOTE: I failed to mention Tenzing Norgay when I spoke about the First Summit of Everest. I apologize for this as if it wasn't for him and all the Sherpas who did all the hard work, Edmund Hillary would never have set foot on top of the mountain.
If you want to skip ahead past this conversation, go ahead but as a Lifelong Everest Fan, I was captivated by his stories and didn't want to cut it short.
Later we descended back down into the town to browse the shops and narrow alleyways that make up Namche Bazaar.
Video was shot mainly with my GoPro HERO5 Black Edition camera but I made the effort to shoot some scenes in Namche using my GoPro Hero4 Silver and the Zhiyun Rider-M Gimbal.
Thank you for watching.
