WHAMPOA WALKING TOUR | THE WHAMPOA SHIP MALL | 黄埔 | HONG KONG (ULTRA HD 4K)
#whampoa #thewhampoa #hongkong
Welcome to the Hong Kong Walking Tour in Whampoa 黃埔花園, where you will see the famous boat, which is actually a shopping mall called The Whampoa. Our video is shot in Ultra HD 4K, crystal clear quality, as if you are actually here.
'Whampoa Garden (Chinese: 黃埔花園; Jyutping: wong4 bou3 faa1 jyun4) is the largest private housing estate in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was built on the site of the former Whampoa Dockyards by Hutchison Whampoa Property. The urban design of the estate incorporates concepts inspired by the Garden city movement[1] and was completed in 1991.
The estate covers 19 hectares and consists of 12 complexes. Ten are residential/commercial mixed use, with a total of 88 16-storey residential high-rise towers. The other two are solely commercial use.[2] There was a height restriction on the buildings due to its proximity to the Kai Tak Airport at the time. It includes eight shopping arcades, three supermarkets, a cinema,[3][4] hundreds of restaurants and shops, a karaoke, five primary schools, mini-parks and two public transport interchange.[5]
There are 10,431 flats,[2] ranging from 351 to 1,110 square feet (32.6 to 103.1 m2), in the 88 residential towers.
Notable commercial outlets include the first ParknShop Hong Kong Superstore, which was opened in 1996 in Whampoa Garden[6] Phase 12 with a floor space of 4,200 square metres (45,000 sq ft); as of 2011, there are over 50 superstores in Hong Kong. Also, The Whampoa is a 110 metres (360 ft)-long boat-shaped shopping centre[7] built in the original No. 1 Dry Dock,[1] in Phase 6. During the 1980s and 1990s, the structure housed a playground on the top and deck level, seafood restaurants, a cinema on other floors above ground levels; the department store Yaohan on ground and basement level, and an indoor family theme park (開心一號) with an arcade game centre and a roller skating rink on lower basement level. In late 1990s, the department store was taken over by JUSCO department store.[8] The JUSCO department store was renamed to AEON in 2013, to be consistent with the name change adopted by its parent company in Japan. In May 2016, the department store was renovated and renamed as AEON STYLE after its reopening in September the same year.
There is also a promenade along sea side, from Laguna Verde to Hung Hom Ferry Pier. It is also linked to the Avenue of Stars. One can walk from Hunghom Pier to Tsim Sha Tsui Pier in about 40 minutes.'

CHINA
Combining work with play. My recent work trip to China I made this movie of our down time adventures. Mostly based in Shanghai but we visited the incredibly beautiful Zhangjiajie National Park, famously known as the AVATAR mountains. Unreal true natural beauty. We also visited the worlds largest glass bridge and finished with a short spell in Zhuhai which is just over the water from Hong Kong.
China is an amazing place, so unique, huge in size, very interesting people and deliciously crazy food!!
The film features my fellow adventurer Julien Nevin and you can follow him on Instagram @anomadicpilfrim

Walking in the public and transit area of Nice Cote d'Azur Aiport visiting the main international terminal. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide.
(From Wiki):
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (French: Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur, with Côte d'Azur meaning Blue Coast in French) is an international airport located 3.2 NM (5.9 km; 3.7 mi) southwest of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes départment of France. It is the third busiest airport in France and serves as a focus city for Air France and an operating base for easyJet. In 2018, it handled 13,850,561 passengers. The airport is positioned 7 km (4 mi) west of the city centre, and is the principal port of arrival for passengers to the Côte d'Azur.
Due to its proximity to the Principality of Monaco, it also serves as the city-state's airport, with helicopter service linking the principality and airport. Some airlines market Monaco as a destination via Nice Airport.

-Tiong Bahru Market
-Lau Pa Sat Food Court (Specifically the satay stalls on the street outside the main centre)

Tiong Bahru:
-Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice (just…friggin’ delicious. Definitely go here if you’re in Tiong Bahru)
Tiong Bahru Bakery (Everything here is great…the croissants in particular are flaky and perfect)
Spago:
Top of Tower 2 at Marina Bay Sands. Good drinks and very good food…great views of the city. The menu is super spendy. But it’s one of the best burgers in the city.
THINGS TO DO:
-Gardens By the Bay
-Singapore Botanic Gardens (& Orchid Garden)
-Marina Bay Sands
-Sentosa
-Lazarus Island (catch the Ferry to St. John’s Island at the Marina South Pier and walk to Lazarus…follow the signs to the beach. NOTE: The boat stops at the very cool Kusu Island for an hour on the return trip…make sure to check out the cute little turtle sanctuary)
-Night Safari (at the Singapore Zoo. NOTE: Tickets are cheaper if you buy them online)
Neighborhoods:
Chinatown (Specifically Keong Said Road and Duxton Hill)
Little India
Orchard Road
Arab Street & Haji Lane
Tiong Bahru
Marina Bay
NOT FEATURED IN THE VIDEO BUT PLACES I STILL LOVE:
Food:

-Albert Street Prawn Noodle Soup (at Old Airport Road Food Centre)

-Carrot Cake at Chomp Chomp Food Centre (not at all what you think it is…it’s a savory dish of rice flour…get the “black” version…it has more flavor)
-Golden Mile Claypot Rice
-Tiong Bahru Meng See (on Chinatown’s Food Street…get the Roast Duck over noodles)
-328 Katong Laksa (a little spendy for laksa, but very popular, spicy, and delicious)
-Sungei Road Laksa (More local and cheaper, but equally excellent Laksa)
-Samy’s Curry Restaurant
-No Signboard Seafood (my favorite chili crab in the city…note: Chili crab can be very expensive…make sure to check the price upfront so you’re not surprised)
-JB Ah Meng (White Pepper Crab)
-Rider’s Cafe
-Lucy’s BBQ (at Chomp Chomp Food Centre)
-Finally…I also love the Golden Mile Food Centre, and the Adams Road Food Centre
Things to do:
-The Treetop Walk at the MacRitchie Reservoir is very cool
-Take a boat ride in the Marina
-Check out the Marina Barrage…it’s a very cool roof-top park where people fly their kites
Some of my favorite Mid-range Hotels (not featured in the video) are:
-The Dorsett
-The Amoy
-Wanderlust Hotel
-Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay
(But my best hotel advice is to just search Hotels.come, Expedia, etc to find the best deals for the days you’re going…read guest reviews and look at guest pictures.
Also…if you can handle tight spaces and don’t mind a shared bathroom, you can stay at CUBE Capsule Hotel…it’s actually a pretty cool experience. And of course…there’s always AirBnB)

Tour of the Canopy Park at Jewel Changi Airport
VIDEO: JEWEL CHANGI AIRPORT
Tokyo's Secret Island Paradise | AOGASHIMA ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Jurassic Park may be the first thing that comes to mind when you see Aogashima Island from the air - but yes, THIS IS TOKYO!
It's famous for having a volcano inside a volcano surrounded by dense jungle. It's also considered the smallest town in Japan and the hardest place in Japan to get to. There is no direct transportation to Aogashima. These facts are what make Aogashima the best kept secret in Tokyo!
★ The Ogasawara video is out!
Travel 1000km further for Tokyo's distant island paradise!
The island is unspoiled.
The pristine jungles and beautiful ocean views are like scenes from the movies.
HOW TO GET TO AOGASHIMA
Air
▶︎ Haneda Airport (Tokyo) to Hachijojima / 50 minutes
▶︎ Helicopter to Aogashima - 20 minutes / 11,530 Yen
Note: You have to take the first flight to catch the helicopter or spend the night. Only 1 helicopter flight per day.
Sea (Ferry)
▶︎ Takeshiba Pier (Tokyo) to Hachijojima 11-12 hours / Tokai Kisen Line /
▶︎ Hachijojima to Aogashima / 3 hours / Izu Shoto Kaihatsu Line
Note: The ferry to Aogashima is often canceled so don't rely on this if you need to be back to Tokyo for a flight etc. It can be delayed for as long as 1 week depending on weather!
WHY IS THIS THE HARDEST PLACE TO GET TO?
The town is located 200 meters up off the sea. There is no airport and this island is only accessible by helicopter and ferry. The port is one of the most challenging to dock at in the world so when the sea is rough or the wind is too strong, ferries are often canceled. Visitors may be stranded here for a week or more if the weather turns bad.
MUST SEE PLACES on AOGASHIMA
★ Ao-Chu Shochu distillery
★ Aogashima heliport
★ The volcanic island steamer (for lunch)
★ The island sauna
★ Oyamatenbo Park (Observation Area) for the view over the crater and the sky at night
★ Aogashima Port
★ Maruyama & Shrine
FOOD TO TRY
★ Torinabe (Chicken Soup Pot)
★ Ashitaba (an island leaf / herb that's used in cooking)
★ Island fish in season
Note: you can ask your inn about trying these at scheduled meals
THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT VISITING AOGASHIMA
1) You must have a reservation to stay somewhere before arriving. Lodging is limited. Call ahead, even for camping.
2) There is an ATM at the post office but come with cash just in case
3) Helicopters are often sold out a month in advance. Ferry tickets are easy to get but your departure date may not be convenient.
4) Walking is possible everywhere but many tourists rent a car. Other tourists may pick you up if you hitchhike. It takes 80 minutes to walk from the heliport to Aogashima pier.

Special thank you to Akira-san, Yoshino-san, Kyoko-san and Moemi-san and all the kind residents of Aogashima who made me feel a part of the island family!

WONG'S WANDERLUST
Designer Sue Wong put on a LA fashion week show Tuesday afternoon that took the audience on an odyssey through the world of glamour in the 1920s and 1930s.
A journey on international vintage glamour, noted Wong. Starting with Shanghai in the 1930s, segueing into Paris into the 1920s flapper. Then we are going to go to Cairo on a sort of caravan exotic journey. From there we go to Cabaret Berlin in pre-war 1930s Berlin. Then we're going to go to art deco New York. And from New York we are going to visit Hollywood and its golden age of movie queen glamour.
From the far-flung lands to the high drama of Hollywood, glamour was explored in a journey of classical Chinese motifs, rich colours of ruby, sapphire and carnelian. Sue Wong culled cultural elements from her own heritage to fashion garments crafted in silk charmeuse, dragons and exotic colours.
I think it also helps that I have a good sense for drama, joked Wong. You know, I'm a little bit of a drama queen (laughs). And hence that's why so much of my clothes is so full of passion and drama. They're very impactful, they're very visual, they're very sensual, very sexy, very feminine. And they always have a lot of style and colour and that sort of thing.
Actor Maria Conchita Alonso ('Chasing Papi') wore one of Wong's gowns to the show in support of her new collection. I just like that it's so colourful, noted Alonso. Even though this time she had a lot of black. But I love that she uses a lot of colour. The material, the silk is beautiful. Very feminine. It flows when you walk. I love all those things.
Sue Wong is currently available in 23 foreign markets.

I use a GoPro Hero 5 Black to record my Vlogs. I intend to upgrade my gear as I go. My next target is to purchase a Dslr camera to enhance my videos. This will most likely be while I’m working to save for my next big trip.
I use to be a mechanic and decided enough was enough, I’m not wasting my life doing something I semi enjoy when I could do something I love and admire! Of course we will all have to earn money from somewhere, but when I do work it will be to save for another great trip. I hope my videos bring something to your day, they are always growing and improving.
So far I have been to Japan and South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand on this trip. I have gone back home for a month and after that I am flying back to Thailand to carry on my trip. I’m planning on going to Laos, then down South to explore more of Asia.
