Wangfujing Street Beijing
Please like this video and don't forget to subscribe!!. Thank you ????
Wangfujing (Chinese: 王府井; pinyin: Wángfǔjǐng; literally: 'Prince's Mansion Well') is a shopping street in Beijing, China, located in Dongcheng District. The majority of the main area is pedestrianised. Since the middle of the Ming Dynasty there have been commercial activities in the area. In the Qing Dynasty, ten aristocratic estates and princess residence were built here, soon after when a well full of sweet water was discovered, thereby giving the street its name Wang Fu (princely residence), Jing (well). Many exotic foods are served on Wangfujing snack street.
* Location ;
The street starts from Wangfujing Nankou (south entrance), where the Oriental Plaza, Beijing Hotel, and Wangfujing Subway Station are located. The street then heads north, passing the Wangfujing Xinhua Bookstore, the Beijing Department Store as well as the Beijing Foreign Languages Bookstore before ending at the Sun Dong An Plaza and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
* History ;
The street was also previously known as Morrison Street in English, after the Australian journalist George Ernest Morrison. Wangfujing is also one of the traditional downtown areas of Beijing, along with Liulichang.
Until the late 1990s, the street was open to traffic. Modifications in 1999 and 2000 made much of Wangfujing Street pedestrian only (aside from the tour trolley). Now through traffic detours to the east of the street.
The 2011 Chinese pro-democracy protests were planned to take place in Wangfujing. Some violence occurred there between police and foreign journalists.
* Store ;
Wangfujing is now home to around 280 shops. Wangfujing malls include the Beijing Department Store, Beijing apm, Beijing Mall and The Malls at Oriental Plaza.
* Food and snacks ;
Wangfujing snack street, located in hutongs just west of the main street, contains many restaurants and street food stalls. The food stalls serve a variety of common and exotic street food, including chuanr (meat kebabs, commonly made of lamb) and desserts, such as tanghulu or candied fruits on a stick.
* Transport ;
The Wangfujing Station of Beijing Subway Line 1 is located at the intersection of Wangfujing Street and Chang'an Avenue.
Beijing Wangfujing Street Shopping District Department Store
Beijing Wangfujing street shopping district department store is one of the most well known shopping streets of Beijing, China, located in Dongcheng District. The majority of the main area is pedestrianised and very popular shopping area for both tourists and local residents.
Wangfujing is now regarded as the central heart of Beijing City. It is the first modern style commercial street in Beijing, approximately 800 meters long with many departmen stores and shopping malls on two sides of the street. A walk from end to end would take you about 30 mins, and that's without looking at any shops and malls.
The Wangfujing shopping district aspires to attain equal ranking with New York's Fifth Avenue, the Champs-Elysees of Paris and the Ginza in Tokyo. The stores on the street sell clothes, tea, shoes, souvenirs, books, hats, etc.
There are three large markets on this street: Sun Dong An Plaza, Beijing Department Store and The Malls at Oriental Plaza. The Malls at Oriental Plaza is known as one of the largest markets in Asia. There are also a whole bunch of Chinese and Western fast food restaurants.
The Beijing Wangfujing street shopping district department store carries many foreign brands such as Calvin Klein, Nina Ricce, Gucci, Prada, Lanvin etc. including cosmetic brands such as Christian Dior, Elizabeth Arden and Guerlain and boutiques like Mondi, Yves Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci, D'urban and Charles Jourdan. There are also ladies department, lingerie, accessories and leather bags.
There are also two book stores, namely Wangfujing Bookstore with some western literature on the third floor and Foreign Languages Bookstore with a wider selection of western books. Toys and other children's stuff are available at Xin Zhong Guo Kid's Stuff or the Children's Goods Store.
A side street, west of Wangfujing, is called Wangfujing XiaoChiJie (Wangfujing Snack Street). Besides snacks, various sorts of souvenirs are available here.
Watch Beijing Delicacies in Wangfujing Snack Street:
The street should be regarded more as a tourist attraction as Wangfujing is not the place to make a bargain. The prices are relatively higher comparing to other area in the city, but on the other hand the quality is generally good.

Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing 2019 New Hotel in Beijing
This brand new Mandarin Oriental hotels is located in Wangfujing, one of the most famous shopping distract in China's capital, has opened its door for guests since March 2019. Overlooking the Forbidden City, one of the most historical landmarks in China, it offers guests one of the most prestige views in the capital. And with just 73 accommodations, this boutique property is small in size, but big in everything else. It is probably one the most recommended hotels in Beijing by far.
Once you move into the elevators and head up to the hotel, you’re greeted with a cozy, sun-drenched library with floor-to-ceiling shelves stocked with novelties and a total of 60 books covering a variety of crafts. Just past that you’ll find the property’s two restaurants and bar, all of which open out to the terrace with sweeping views of the Forbidden City. There’s Café Zi, the all-day dining establishment focusing on Asian cuisine that ranges from popular Thai dishes to Cantonese favorites, including dim sum offerings at lunch. Make sure to order the mushroom buns, which visually resemble shiitakes and are stuffed with an assortment of fungi. For a more buttoned-up affair, head over to the Adam Tihany–designed Mandarin Grill + Bar, which resembles a New York City steakhouse and has the fare to match it.
Mandarin Grill + Bar received an overall score 98 in total of 100. This video review was captured in May 2019.
Hope you enjoy watching this video. Leave your thoughts down below. Stay tuned for the next video.
