MATTAgameON 2018
Caparica Primavera Surf Fest received the best European surfers under-13, from the 27th to 29th of March, for the 2nd edition of the MATTAgameON Powered by Didier Piter Surf Coaching. This 2nd edition of the event is focused on the youngest surfers, the next generation, with the goal to present the most complete event that will help these kids to develop their surfing skills.
MATTAgameON concludes with an exciting final day. Kai Odriozola, from Spain, had a solid win in the final against Conor Donegan, 2nd place from the Canary Islands, Hans Odriozola, 3rd place from Spain, and Francisco Ordonhas, 4th place from Portugal. Besides standing out from a total of 32 of the best European surfers under-13, Kai won a free 10 days boat trip to the Mentawai, courtesy of Absorvit Vitaminas and Sumatra Surf Trip, and also free coach sessions with Didier Piter Surf Coaching.
At the end Nuno Matta prepared a surprise by delivering the MATTA Special Award, sponsoring contract with MATTA, to Conor Donegan. But the level of these young surfers was so high that Nuno Matta decided to award 2 more surfers with the sponsoring award, MATTA family got a total of 3 new members, besides Conor also Martin Moina, from Euskadi, and Axel Dominguez, from France, have a new surfboard sponsoring contract with MATTA.

A years worth of footage from South Portugal meaning sifting through thousands of video takes and having quite a few hard decisions to make along the road regarding which takes are in and which are out.
Plus endless hours of rendering and therefore waiting over and over again to tune the scenes into what was envisioned. Not to mention the special camera equipment needed to be build. Plus all the substantial time invested into the soundtrack songs as well. Sometimes I started to doubt my sanity.
So now after a year of patience and endurance it's finally done & here:

We cannot go everyday and have lunch out, so we bring some food and eat here on the beach. Eating out is not possible, neither is getting coffee. It''s too much for our budget. But I think the crisis is everywhere. Some have better luck because they (the government) instead of taking from the rich take from the poor (through tax and high prices).

STORYLINE
For many Portuguese holidaymakers relaxing on the beach in the seaside town of Carcavelos the looming global debt crisis is never far from their minds.
Portugal is currently in recession which is forecast to continue through 2013.
The government implemented a number of economic austerity measures after receiving a 78 (b) billion euro bailout (112 (b) billion US dollars) from the European Central Bank which spared it from bankruptcy; part of the European-IMF troika initiative to contain the eurozone''s debt crisis.
But for holidaymakers trying to soak up the sun, many complained of the knock on daily effects from the cuts.
Eating out is not possible, neither is getting coffee, said 44-year old hospital worker Anabela Paracosta from Lisbon.
It''s too much for our budget.
Bank employee Jaime Claro echoed Paracosta''s worries.
With the new measures imposed by Europe and the troika, life will get worse because the prices will increase but the salaries will not, he said.
Global financial markets suffered one of their worst weeks at the close of business on Friday.
Credit ratings agency Standard & Poor''s downgrade of the US credit rating on Friday night added to growing fears over debt levels and economic growth in large European nations.
The financial officials from the Group of Seven industrialised nations are expected to discuss how to coordinate action between their countries'' central banks, following several days of market panic.
