Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen or Pak Nam Phasi Charoen is located at Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok. This is a very large wat with a sizeable population of monks and nuns.
Wat Paknam is a third class royal Buddhist temple.with the overall land area of approximately 13 acres. The temple’s territories are as follows:
- The northern border adjoins to Bangkok Yai Canal
- The Eastern border adjoins to Dan Canal
- The Southern border adjoins to a small canal
- The Western border adjoins to Bhasicharoen Canal and a public way
- The Southwestern adjoins to Apsornsawan Girl School and Subhakhomsuksa School
Wat Paknam is an ancient temple built since the middle of Ayudhaya era. The temple was established by a royalty, but there is no evidence of the establisher’s name. Wat Paknam has lot of interesting place and thing to see such as

Paknam Bhasicharoen, sometime spelled as Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, commonly called Wat Paknam, is a royal temple located in Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok. Wat Paknam belongs to MahayanaNikaya fraternity and is the origin of the Dhammakaya Movement. It is a large temple which is quite popular and well-supported by a prosperous community of high social class.
Wat Paknam was built in the Ayutthaya period or around 400 years ago. The temple became widely known because of the meditation master Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro, who was abbot there in the first half of the twentieth century. Somdet Chuang Varapuñño became the new abbot after Luang Pu Sodh's death. When he was appointed as Supreme Patriarch (acting head of the Thai monastic community) in 2015, he made international headlines but he was finally withdrawn. The appointment was interpreted as political which has led to debate and protests in Thailand.
Followers of Wat Paknam are usually attracted by the temple's reputation for charity. It is also popular among nuns (Mae Chi). One of its nuns went to found another temple, Wat Phra Dhammakaya, which became widely known.
Wat Paknam has a long history with international Buddhists from around the world. The temple extablished its recognition worldwide. In 2012, a huge stupa called Maharatchamongkhon was finished and attracted attentions from tourists globally.
Wat Paknam is located in the area where travelers aren't particularly crowded. It's actually one of the best ways to experience Thai local living in the area. The temple should be free of admission fee. You're advised to wear non-revealing clothes when visit.

PAK NAM MARKET | Pak Nam Market Pier In Samut Prakan Province, Thailand
Pak Nam market is a market that is sitting right by the Pak Nam Ferry Market Pier in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand.
This is actually a quite interesting and big market. Technically it is 3 different markets combined into one big market.
First, you have the Pak Nam Market, which sells clothes, utensils, and other household needs.
It then turns into a Pak Nam Fresh Market, where they sell all the meat and produce. But from what I saw, it mainly looks like all seafood. Which makes sense because this market is right by the harbor. So you'll definitely be able to get your hands on some fresh seafood and for cheap also.
Then right by the Pak Nam Fresh Market is Samut Prakan Market. Here you will find all your herbs and vegetables.
So this is the only place you'll need to go if you need to so do some grocery shopping in Pak Nam.
These markets are about 10-15min walk from Pak Nam BTS Station. Once you get off the BTS station, just head south and walk along Prakhon Chai Rd.
Prakhon Chai Rd will turn into Sri Samut Rd, keep following the road until you see Tharuea Vibun Si 2.
Turn right into that street and walk straight to the end and the market should be right in front of you.

There is really not much happening on this main road, except a lot of traffic passing through here.
The main hustle and bustle of this town is where the Pak Nam Market is. Which is right by the Pak Nam Market Ferry Pier.

I went to Wat Pak Nam BhasiCharoen (Pak Nam Temple) is a royal temple, commonly called Wat Pak Nam, is located on Ratchamongkolprasat Road (previous one was 8 Terdthai Road), Pakkhlong Bhasicharoen sub district, Bhasicharoen district, Bangkok. This temple is just walk 10-15 mins from Bang Phai MRT Station. I walked around the Great Pagoda and museum. The highlight is very beautiful pagoda of glass and the ceiling mural of emarald green is costing a total of 500 million baht. This temple is very popular for japanese.

This is the streets of Pak Nam in Samut Prakan province in Thailand.
Pak Nam is a small fishing town in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Samut Prakan is at the mouth of the Chao Phraya and Pak Nam in Thai means, mouth of a river.
It is a very localized area and not many tourists frequent this place. But hopefully with the newly extended BTS Skytrain that has just opened. It will bring more tourist to this area to help the local economy.
I actually like this area, it's somewhat busy, but not too overcrowded and the markets are pretty awesome.
Things here a quite cheap and you'll definitely be able to get your hand on some cheap fresh seafood.
HOW TO GET HERE
Take the BTS Skytrain to PAK NAM BTS STATION and walk south along PRAKHON CHAI RD. Keep to your right and the street will turn into SRI SAMUT RD.
This street is where you will find all the markets in Pak Nam.

I see it every night from my condo window. Sometimes I see people walking around it with candles. It has intrigued me, especially the extremel large Buddha statue I can see beside it still under construction. They recently uncovered the head. So I invited Chuck to come along with me on this exploration.
I thnk it is worth a visit if you come here.

吸い込まれそうなほど美しい宇宙のような天井画が有名なエメラルド仏塔
正式な名前はワットパクナム パシーチャルンと言います。
高さ80メートルの大仏塔5階にあるエメラルド色をしたガラス製の仏塔と天井に描かれた仏伝図にあります。その美しさは見る人を魅了し、写真に収めればインスタ映えすること間違いありません。
ワットパクナムの5階にある仏舎利奉安塔仏伝図はワットパクナム最大の見所です
アユタヤ王朝の時代、日本では足利尊氏による室町幕府の時代に建立された歴史と由緒ある寺院で、19世紀に現王朝のラマ3世、4世、5世と3代の王が寺院の改築や周囲の運河と水門などの建設に携わって来多そうです
寺院の周囲には当時の運河が今も残されており、ワット＝寺院、パク＝口、ナム＝河と名称にある通りの寺院です。
また寺院の敷地はかなり広いです
ワットパクナムへの行き方はBTS（高架鉄道）シーロムエリアからタクシーに乗ったとして150バーツ前後のようです
今回はBTSのタラートプルー駅で降りました
徒歩で15分～20分程度ですがこの駅からタクシーを利用したり駅前を巡回するソンテウを利用するのも良いと思います。
ソンテウは運賃がたったの7バーツなので、バックパッカーなどの節約旅行者はソンテウを利用する人が多いです
ソンテウ乗り場は、BTS タラートプルーの2番出口を降りた場所にあります。ソンテウに乗る際は、必ず運転手に「ワットパクナム？」と聞いてから乗りましょう。

Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, is a buddhist temple located 10km South East of Bangkok City.
There are many section to this temple, but one of the section is where they house this beautiful Glass Pagoda, known as Phrarathchamongkhon Stupa.
This section of the temple consist of 5 floors. The 1st floor is a museum, 2nd floor is a meditation hall, 3rd floor is another museum, 4th floor is the memory hall and the 5th floor is where the Glass Pagoda is.
