Wat Pho, also known as Wat Po and The Temple of the Reclining Buddha was by far our favorite Temple in Thailand! Known for its huge Reclining Buddha, and its Traditional Thai massage school, Wat Pho is simply incredible! It was quite, it was very empty, inexpensive, and had the school of Thai massage on location! For those of you visiting Bangkok, you cannot go wrong with visiting Wat Pho. It's the best temple in Bangkok, Thailand.

Wat Phra Chetuphon, or Wat Pho, is well known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, as well as being Thailand's first “open” University. After present Chakri Dynasty in 1782, HM the King had a royal instruction to restore Wat Pho to be the first grade of royal monastery. From the great restoration during King Rama I and King Rama III, Wat Pho came to be the center of Thai Arts and Knowledge where the wisdom of Thai Traditional Medicine and Massage were gathered from the ancestors and is still passed on today, e.g. instruction of herbal drug recipes, diagnosis and treatment for general ailments, baby illnesses and healing methods, massage inscriptions and drawings, Ascetic statues etc.
Being the base of Thai Medicine, Wat Pho Thai Traditional Medical and Massage School was opened in 1955 inside Wat Pho. It is the first Thai Medical School under the approval of Thai Ministry of Education.

Будучи колыбелью тайской медицины, Школа Тайской Традиционной Медицины и Массажа Ват Пхо была открыта в 1955 году именно здесь, на территории Храмового Комплекса Будды, Лежащего в Ожидании Нирваны. Это первая тайская медицинская школа, утверждённая Министерством Здравоохранения Таиланда.

Tourists Have Fire Massages At Wat Po Temple In Thailand
Tourists grit their teeth through 'fire massages' at the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday (03/11). Holidaymakers were given free massages at part of the Thai traditional medicine fair being held at the building. Expert masseuses in traditional dress used wooden hammers to unlock the knots in people's backs. While others walked on their bodies and used their feet - dipped in sizzling hot oil and flames from a charcoal fire - to give massages.

This is the conclusion of the 5-day General Massage course at Wat Pho's TTM school: a demonstration massage of the 10 sen lom lines that radiate from the navel. This was the second demonstration (the first one was on me - during the video I try to show the markings he made on my own stomach), so the conversation had turned to several unrelated topics and general Thai-style joking.

Bangkok Thailand Vlog: Reclining Buddha & Authentic Thai Massage
This is our Second Day in Bangkok..
After our Grand Palace Tour, we walked 1 km to the pier and went to Wat Arun. Later on we realized that it was too early for Wat Arun because its better to visit the temple during dawn or dusk. So we decided to go back to Wat Pho to see the Reclining Buddha and had an authentic thai massage at Wat Po Thai Traditional Medical School.
