Wat Suthat, tempio reale di prima classe, è celebre per la spettacolare Giant Swing, la grande altalena rossa situata proprio davanti al suo ingresso. Il grande complesso, ufficialmente chiamato Wat Suthat Thepphawararam, si estende su una superficie di 4 ettari ed è uno dei più grandi di Bangkok. All’interno si possono ammirare l’elegante viharn con i suoi maestosi tetti, l’imponente statua del Buddha, gli splendidi affreschi e gli elaborati intarsi dei grandi portali. Wat Suthat, a royal temple of the first class, is famous for the spectacular Giant Swing, the big red swing right in front of its entrance. The large complex, officially called Wat Suthat Thepphawararam, covers an area of 4 hectares and is one of the largest in Bangkok. Inside you can admire the elegant viharn with its majestic roofs, the imposing statue of the Buddha, the splendid frescoes and the elaborate inlays of the great portals. Este complexo possui um templo ao centro e em toda a volta pequenas imagens de Buda onde são colocadas as cinzas dos mortos. O templo com arquitectura muito própria dos templos budistas especialmente os telhados, após a subida de alguns degraus, revela no seu interior uma imagem gigante do Buda sentado. O interior revela uma decoração escura e convida à reflexão.

Bangkok City Walking Tour - Wat Suthat to Khaosan Road - THAILAND 2019
Wat Suthat (or Wat Suthat Thepwararam), known for the towering red swing just outside its grand entrance. Located in the Old City area, Wat Suthat is one of the oldest and most historic temples in Thailand.
From the Giant Swing, a religious structure constructed in 1784 in Phra Nakhon, Bangkok we walk towards Ratchadamnoen Road and the Khao San area.
En route we see some waterway at the Maharkarn Fort, more temples like Loha Prasart and likewise pass the Freedom Monument.
It's hot throughout the afternoon. The Khao San area is quite hectic where we go through the small shopping roads finishing the 30-minute walk on Phra Sumen Road.

The Democracy Monument is a public monument in the centre of Bangkok, capital of Thailand. It occupies a traffic circle on the wide east-west Ratchadamnoen Avenue, at the intersection of Dinso Road.
-Wat Suthat
is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a royal temple of the first grade, one of ten such temples in Bangkok (23 in Thailand). Construction was begun by King Rama I in 2350 BE (1807 CE). Further construction and decorations were carried out by King Rama II who helped carve the wooden doors, but the temple was not completed until the reign of King Rama III in 2390 BE (1847–1848 CE). This temple contains the Buddha image Phra Sri Sakyamuni (Thai: พระศรีศากยมุนี; RTGS: Phra Si Sakkayamuni) which have been moved from Sukhothai Province.

Khao San Road - The popular book 'The Beach' famously described Khao San Road as the centre of the backpacking universe. Judging by the truth-seeking travellers who converge here it's a phrase that sums it up pretty much perfectly. On Khao San itself and the streets either side, you can shop, exchange tales and prepare for you next stint on the backpacker trail.

Wat Suthat, e' un tempio reale molto importante.All’interno si possono ammirare l’elegante viharn con i suoi maestosi tetti, l’imponente statua del Buddha, gli splendidi affreschi.Poco visitato dai turisti, Wat Suthat è ancora un tempio molto importante per i thailandesi.La costruzione di Wat Suthat fu iniziata da re Rama I nel 1807, infine, ulteriori lavori di ampliamento furono realizzati da re Rama V oltre il 1850.L’imponente Vihan, orientato nord-sud, è la struttura principale del tempio. E’ famoso per il suo Buddha del periodo Sukhotai e per gli eccellenti affreschi. Lungo il perimetro del livello inferiore della piattaforma, sono collocate 28 piccole pagode in stile cinese.Il porticato che delimita il complesso e' caretterizzato da 156 statue del Buddha allineate lungo le pareti e rivolte verso l'interno.Grazie per aver visitato il mio canale.
