2020 Local America Presidential Forum
Our nation's mayors are up close and on the ground as Americans confront their toughest challenges and seek their highest aspirations. That is why Accelerator for America Action and the United States Conference of Mayors are hosting the Local America Presidential Candidate Forum in Waterloo, Iowa on December 6, 2019.
The forum will focus on an agenda for America’s communities moving forward. In addition to touching on the candidate’s plans related to building community wealth and rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure, the mayors will be asking the candidates for specifics of what they will do to improve the everyday lives of their local constituents.
The forum will be attended by 2020 presidential candidates Senator Cory Booker, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Mr. Tom Steyer, Secretary Julián Castro, and Senator Amy Klobuchar.
MORRISSEY - March 16, 2006 - Austin, TX, USA (Full Concert) LIVE
Recorded Live at Austin Music Hall, Austin, TX, United States - March 16, 2006. Tour Of The Tormentors - American Warm-Up Dates. Artwork & Information: Passionsjustlikemine.com
Setlist: First Of The Gang To Die
Still Ill
You Have Killed Me
The Youngest Was The Most Loved
Reader Meet Author
I Have Forgiven Jesus
I Will See You In Far Off Places
My Life Is A Succession Of People Saying Goodbye
Girlfriend In A Coma
Let Me Kiss You
Life Is A Pigsty
Trouble Loves Me
How Soon Is Now?
At Last I Am Born
I Just Want To See The Boy Happy
Irish Blood, English Heart
/Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
This Morrissey appearance at the South By Southwest Festival was the best concert of these three American dates. Morrissey was in top form and very talkative. The audience was very responsive despite the presence of many non-Morrissey fans who had come so see other bands. They sang along to many of the songs, especially Girlfriend In A Coma. Nobody tried to scale the barrier until the very end of the encore and then about two or three fans made it on stage.
The Oklahoma City setlist from 2 days before must have been more satisfying than the one from Tulsa before that because the songs were performed in the same order here in Austin. Only Suedehead was dropped, perhaps to comply to the festival's time restrictions or schedule.
As soon as Morrissey walked on stage, he greeted the audience with the unusual and surprising And all of a sudden, by some shocking act of fate, you find yourself in Austin! After set opener First Of The Gang To Die he said something closer to a greeting, but still not quite So finally, finally, finally, we make it to Austin. In Still Ill, besides the previously introduced change England's a swine, and it owes me a living, Morrissey also sang and I should know because I've seen them but very very often. After the song he answered a fan Am I still ill? Dear God, I hope so...
In You Have Killed Me Morrissey slightly changed a line to who am I that I even come to be standing here. After the song, as an introduction to it and the next, he said That was that, this is this! and then the band launched in The Youngest Was The Most Loved. He followed the song with a proper introduction: That song was called 'The Youngest Was The Most Loved' and it's from our new album which... I think you can depend upon Waterloo Records... (then in a lower voice) maybe... In Reader Meet Author, besides the now common change The year 2000, it hasn't changed anyone here, Morrissey made many more minor changes, such as you don't know a thing about their life, book won't save them..., but more interestingly you hear the way this sad voice sings (which probably implies that the author in question is listening to Morrissey).
After the latter song Morrissey introduced his musicians: Would you please say hello to the lovely Boz Boorer... and to the only Gary Day... to newboy Matt Walker... and to our very own Austin boy, Jesse Tobias... and from (coughs) Cleveland... somebody has to be, Michael Farrell... He asked some heckler in the audience: Yes? What would you like to say?. In I Have Forgiven Jesus Morrissey made a change to by Friday, this job has killed me and in I Will See You In Far Off Places he sang It's so easy for us to stand together, but it's so hard for the flesh to combine. After that song he remained on the same topic by sarcastically commenting So I heard today that the USA bombed Irak again, (crowd boos) but they're probably looking for weapons of mass destructions, eh... keep an open mind....

RMS_Titanic
RMS Titanic was British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912 after striking an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making the sinking one of modern historys deadliest peacetime commercial marine disasters. RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time she entered service and was the second of three Olympic-class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line. She was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Thomas

Finding Good Crappie Fishing Spots
Jason made a point in the fall and winter to look for new crappie fishing spots with his electronics. He started in some productive arms of the lake and idled along break lines looking for brush piles with fish.
These creek channel edges are often where fishermen like to drop their brush piles. So Jason scanned with Lowrance HDS 3D Structure Scan for likely looking spots and brush piles until he found schools of crappie holding on them.
Once he saw a good school of fish on a brush pile, he stopped and fished it. He would cast a jig over the top, when they quit biting that, he would pitch to the piles from a closer distance, and finally he would get right on top of them and fish vertically on the pile.
He had one of the best fall/winter periods for crappie fishing in recent years by getting out and hunting for fish more with his electronics.

How to Pass a Driver's License Road Test First Time
Do you want to pass a driver's license road test first time? Watch the video to learn how. PASS YOUR ROAD TEST FIRST TIME CHECKLIST: SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ►
#driverstest #smartdrivetest #passfirsttime
On road test day, your job is to take away the driving examiner's right to fail you - nothing more, nothing less. If you've practiced, that job is a simple task.
Driving is NOT a spectator sport, and you must practice to be prepared for road test day. Remember, we do what we practice, so the more you drive in preparation for your road test, the higher probability of success you are going to have on your driver's license road test day.
If you haven’t taken driver training with a driving school, be sure to hire a driving school to take you out on a practice road test.
A driving instructor will identify the gaps in your driving abilities, skills, and knowledge so you will be better prepared. Keep in mind, driving schools teach drivers how to pass a road test every day!
Importantly, if you make a mistake on the road test, move on quickly - do not dwell on the mistake. If you dwell on the mistake, your distraction will cause you to make more mistakes. And some times the driving examiner may not have even seen the mistake.
Speed and space management are the 2 biggest components of a driver's license road test. Be sure to drive the posted speed limit for the speed of the traffic flow - whichever is less. As well, stay away from other traffic, vehicles, road users, pedestrians and fixed objects.
In addition to speed and space management, observation and communication are the other two fundamental components that make up a road test. You must demonstrate to the examiner that you have a scanning pattern that allows you to interpret and predict traffic patterns.
As well, the scanning pattern is looking in the mirrors and monitoring the gauges on the dash of your vehicle.
And for the purposes of observing, you must shoulder check at least twice for every turn and lateral movement. You must shoulder check two times when making lane changes.
When communicating with other traffic, you must activate your turn signal approximately 1/2 block before making a turn.
And it is suggested that you have three flashes on the turn signal before making any lateral movement or lane changes.
To review...the 4 fundamental components of any road test are:
1) speed management
2) space management
3) observation
4) communication
Demonstrate competency in these 4 basic components of the road test, and you will have taken away the examiner's right to fail you.
Good luck on your road test.

This is a list of technology centers throughout the world. Governmental planners and business networks like to use the name silicon or valley to describe their own areas as a result of the success of Silicon Valley in California. Nevertheless, there are a few qualitative differences between these places, and metrics may be applied to measure their dominance.
These metrics include:
How much and to what extent public and/or private research and development funds are spent in the zones
What percentage of local employment is technology related.
If the zone is mainly government funded or is mainly corporate driven (or both)
If mainly corporate, how much revenue and profit and which corporates have headquarters there.
If mainly corporate, how much venture capital has been made available to companies in the zone.
What supporting higher educational institutions are located in nearby.

Words at War: Assignment USA / The Weeping Wood / Science at War
The Detroit Race Riot broke out in Detroit, Michigan in June 20, 1943, and lasted for three days before Federal troops restored order. The rioting between blacks and whites began on Belle Isle on June 20, 1943 and continued until the 22nd of June, killing 34, wounding 433, and destroying property valued at $2 million.
In the summer of 1943, in the midst of World War II, tensions between blacks and whites in Detroit were escalating. Detroit's population had grown by 350,000 people since the war began. The booming defense industries brought in large numbers of people with high wages and very little available housing. 50,000 blacks had recently arrived along with 300,000 whites, mostly from rural Appalachia and Southern States.[2]
Recruiters convinced blacks as well as whites in the South to come up North by promising them higher wages in the new war factories. Believing that they had found a promised land, blacks began to move up North in larger numbers. However, upon arriving in Detroit, blacks found that the northern bigotry was just as bad as that they left behind in the deep South. They were excluded from all public housing except Brewster Housing Projects, forced to live in homes without indoor plumbing, and paid rents two to three times higher than families in white districts. They also faced discrimination from the public and unfair treatment by the Detroit Police Department.[3] In addition, Southern whites brought their traditional bigotry with them as both races head up North, adding serious racial tensions to the area. Job-seekers arrived in such large numbers in Detroit that it was impossible to house them all.
Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government was concerned about providing housing for the workers who were beginning to pour into the area. On June 4, 1941, the Detroit Housing Commission approved two sites for defense housing projects--one for whites, one for blacks. The site originally selected by the commission for black workers was in a predominantly black area, but the U.S. government chose a site at Nevada and Fenelon streets, an all-white neighborhood.
To complete this, a project named Sojourner Truth was launched in the memory of a black Civil War woman and poet. Despite this, the white neighborhoods opposed having blacks moving next to their homes, meaning no tenants were to be built. On January, 20, 1942, Washington DC informed the Housing Commission that the Sojourner Truth project would be for whites and another would be selected for blacks. But when a suitable site for blacks could not be found, Washington housing authorities agreed to allow blacks into the finished homes. This was set on February 28, 1942.[4] In February 27, 1942, 120 whites went on protest vowing they would keep any black homeowners out of their sight in response to the project. By the end of the day, it had grown to more than 1,200, most of them were armed. Things went so badly that two blacks in a car attempted to run over the protesters picket line which led to a clash between white and black groups. Despite the mounting opposition from whites, black families moved into the project at the end of April. To prevent a riot, Detroit Mayor Edward Jeffries ordered the Detroit Police Department and state troops to keep the peace during that move. Over 1,100 city and state police officers and 1,600 Michigan National Guard troops were mobilized and sent to the area around Nevada and Fenelon street to guard six African-American families who moved into the Sojourner Truth Homes. Thanks to the presence of the guard, there were no further racial problems for the blacks who moved into this federal housing project. Eventually, 168 black families moved into these homes.[5] Despite no casualties in the project, the fear was about to explode a year later.[6]
In early June 1943, three weeks before the riot, Packard Motor Car Company promoted three blacks to work next to whites in the assembly lines. This promotion caused 25,000 whites to walk off the job, effectively slowing down the critical war production. It was clear that whites didn't mind that blacks worked in the same plant but refused to work side-by-side with them. During the protest, a voice with a Southern accent shouted in the loudspeaker, I'd rather see Hitler and Hirohito win than work next to a nigger.

SUMMARY
=======
Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. It is the 11th-most populous city in the United States and the 4th-most populous city in Texas. It is also the fastest growing large city in the United States, the second most populous state capital after Phoenix, Arizona, and the southernmost state capital in the contiguous United States. As of the U.S. Census Bureau's August 1, 2018 estimate, Austin had a population of 967,629 up from 790,491 at the 2010 census. The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan statistical area, which had an estimated population of 2,056,405 as of July 1, 2016. Located in Central Texas within the greater Texas Hill Country, it is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado River, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, and Lake Walter E. Long.
In the 1830s, pioneers began to settle the area in central Austin along the Colorado River. In 1839, the site was chosen to replace Houston as the capital of the Republic of Texas and was incorporated under the name Waterloo. Shortly afterward, the name was changed to Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the Father of Texas and the republic's first secretary of state. The city grew throughout the 19th century and became a center for government and education with the construction of the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas at Austin. After a severe lull in economic growth from the Great Depression, Austin resumed its steady development, and by the 1990s it emerged as a center for technology and business. A number of Fortune 500 companies have headquarters or regional offices in Austin including, 3M, Amazon.com, Apple Inc., Cisco, eBay, General Motors, Google, IBM, Intel, Oracle Corporation, Paypal, Texas Instruments, and Whole Foods Market. Dell's worldwide headquarters is located in nearby Round Rock, a suburb of Austin.
Residents of Austin are known as Austinites. They include a diverse mix of government employees, college students, musicians, high-tech workers, blue-collar workers, and a vibrant LGBT community. The city's official slogan promotes Austin as The Live Music Capital of the World, a reference to the city's many musicians and live music venues, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits. The city also adopted Silicon Hills as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have adopted the unofficial slogan Keep Austin Weird, which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. In the late 19th century, Austin was known as the City of the Violet Crown, because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset. Even today, many Austin businesses use the term Violet Crown in their name. Austin is known as a clean-air city for its stringent no-smoking ordinances that apply to all public places and buildings, including restaurants and bars.U.S. News & World Report named Austin the #1 place to live in the U.S. for 2017 and 2018. In 2016, Forbes ranked Austin #1 on its Cities of the Future list, then in 2017 placed the city at that same position on its list for the Next Biggest Boom Town in the U.S. Also in 2017, Forbes awarded the South River City neighborhood of Austin its #2 ranking for Best Cities and Neighborhoods for Millennials. WalletHub named Austin the #6 best place in the country to live for 2017. The FBI ranked Austin as the #2 safest major city in the U.S. for 2012.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
