Travel Vlog: Harley Davidson Motorcycle Ride to Key West | Montse Baughan
Key West (Florida) is a very popular destination because it has a tropical weather, white sand beaches, and lively nightlife.
We rented a Harley Davidson from Keys Cycles ( because we couldn´t bring ours with us, and the experience was awesome.
Key West’s most famous resident was the writer Ernest Hemingway. In the video, you can see his Spanish style mansion.
One of the biggest attractions on the island is the Southernmost Point which marks one of the extreme points of the United States and reads “90 miles to Cuba”. Tourists wait in line to take pictures in front the monument.
Key West is also known as the “Winter White House” because of its appeal to visiting U.S. Presidents. This is one of the most charming places that I have ever been to and discovering it on a Harley Davidson makes this experience unforgettable.
Thanks for watching!

Key West Bike Ride: 2 Min.
How long is the ride?
We will be riding our bikes from Fort Myers, FL to Key West, FL -- it is approximately 300 miles.
What are the dates of the ride?
February 4-9, 2012
Who can participate?
The target audience of participants is local Fort Myers area youth ministers. YouthHOPE development team members and NMSI missionaries will be participating as well.
What is the purpose?
To raise money for our missionaries, Gabe & Melissa Hillman in Bulgaria. The Hillmans serve in Bulgaria and have recently returned for their second term. They use their gifts and passions for youth and family, outdoor sports and recreation, and leadership development to share Christ among the unreached youth in the southern region of Bulgaria. Another purpose of the ride is to raise awareness about the poverty in Bulgaria, awareness of YouthHOPE to the Ft. Myers community and to gather a group of like-minded folks to physically exercise for the glory of God and the benefit of others.
How will the money be spent?
In Bulgaria, the Hillmans take people on outdoor outreaches -- mountain bike rides, Christian camps, and experiential learning opportunities. Their ministry has a need for bikes, tents, sleeping bags and more.
What will the ride itself look like?
The group of riders will be in a buddy system with a safety vehicle following behind the last riders. The group will ride between 50-70 miles each day.
How can I support the To The Ends Of The Earth bike ride?
You can support the global youth ministry work in Bulgaria by giving a financial donation to one of our riders.

From Miami Landfill to MTB Park - Virginia Key
This is Miami, hardly the place you would expect to find mountain bike trials. Miami is more of a testament to urban development than anything else, but a little island off Key Biscane is a product of exactly that.
Frenchy is arguably the most important man in all of Miami, as far as we’re concerned anyway. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, he’s converted a landfill into beautiful switchback mountain bike trails. It’s hard to believe this whole island didn’t even exist before the Port of Miami was dredged. Nature has certainly taken it over quickly.
In 2011, the newly formed Virginia Key Bicycle club got the thumbs up to start building trails here. The city had nothing to lose and everything to gain. According to Frenchy, there have been more volunteer hours logged here in the last 5 years than any other trail in South Florida. At the beginning of the project, Frenchy’s primary goal was to make the park accessible to as many people as possible. He wanted the community to love the park, and they did. The volunteers up on this stage have logged the most time of anyone, with some of them spending over 800 hours of their own time working on the trails.
With the remaining acreage, Frenchy has plans for more difficult trails. The very people who got into mountain biking here are now growing and improving their skills, thirsty for new challenges. Today is the park’s 5 year anniversary, and there’s a brand new black diamond section opening in a few minutes. Frenchy is kicking things off by popping a bottle of champagne with a machete. I’m not sure if it’s for the anniversary or the new section, but it’s some handy machete-work nonetheless. There’s reason to celebrate too, as this park has had an enormous effect on the local cycling economy. Whenever there’s an event here, shops, bike companies, and riders come out in droves, eager to see the continued success of the park. There are enough demo bikes here for everyone.
Now that the champagne hacking is through, we’re riding a huge train through the adaptive trails, ending with the opening of the new black diamond run. I saw some stuff there yesterday which had me itching to come back today. Here goes… The new section has a little something for everyone. From what Frenchy tells me there will be more to come, including a continuation of this trail. I plan on spending a lot more time here at Virginia Key, even if I need to fight Miami’s traffic to do so.

Driving Out Of Key West After Hurricane IRMA
PATREON To Help Create More Videos
Hurricane Irma was an extremely powerful and catastrophic Cape Verde type hurricane, the strongest observed in the Atlantic since Wilma in 2005 in terms of maximum sustained winds. It was the first Category 5 hurricane to strike the Leeward Islands on record, followed by Hurricane Maria only two weeks later. It was also the most intense Atlantic hurricane to strike the United States since Katrina in 2005, and the first major hurricane to make landfall in Florida since Wilma in 2005. The ninth named storm, fourth hurricane, and second major hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, Irma caused widespread and catastrophic damage throughout its long lifetime, particularly in parts of the northeastern Caribbean and the Florida Keys.
Irma developed on August 30, 2017 near the Cape Verde Islands, from a tropical wave that had moved off the west African coast three days prior. Under favorable conditions, Irma rapidly intensified shortly after formation, becoming a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir–Simpson scale within a mere 24 hours. It became a Category 3 hurricane (and therefore a major hurricane) shortly afterward; however, the intensity fluctuated between Categories 2 and 3 for the next several days due to a series of eyewall replacement cycles. On September 4, Irma resumed intensifying, becoming a Category 5 hurricane by early the next day. On September 6, Irma reached its peak intensity with 185 mph (295 km/h) winds and a minimum pressure of 914 hPa (27.0 inHg), making it the second most intense tropical cyclone worldwide so far in 2017, behind only Hurricane Maria, and the strongest worldwide in 2017 in terms of wind speed. Another eyewall replacement cycle caused Irma to weaken back to a Category 4 hurricane, but the storm attained Category 5 status for a second time before making landfall in Cuba. After dropping to Category 3 intensity due to land interaction, the storm re-intensified to Category 4 status as it crossed warm waters between Cuba and Florida, before making landfall on Cudjoe Key with maximum sustained winds at 130 mph (215 km/h). Irma dropped back to Category 3 by the time it made a second Florida landfall on Marco Island. Irma weakened to a Category 2 hurricane later that day, the first time it weakened below major hurricane status in over a week, and eventually dissipated off the coast of New England.
The storm caused catastrophic damage in Barbuda, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, Anguilla, and the Virgin Islands as a Category 5 hurricane. As of September 27, the hurricane has caused at least 124 deaths, including 44 in the Caribbean and 80 in the United States. (one in Anguilla, one in Barbados, three in Barbuda, four in the British Virgin Islands, 10 in Cuba, 11 in the French West Indies, one in Haiti, three in Puerto Rico, four on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, 80 in the contiguous United States, four in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and two others in unknown locations).

The Gulf Stream Explained
Learn about the role of the sea in global warming.
The global conveyer belt is part of the large-scale ocean circulation that is driven by differences in the density of the waters. It plays a key role in keeping the climate at balance and Europe warm. Global warming may change it forever with unforeseeable consequences.

2016 Bike MS Run South Florida
MS Bike Run Miami To Key Largo Florida
Many of you know that I participate in charity events, this is one that is very close to me because I personally know a few people that suffer from this..
This event was different as I was able to really interact with the people who not only do the long two day ride.. But as to finding out what motivates them to do it.. Many have MS and still ride in it not giving up, to the family members that do it for their loved ones who have it..
It's just sad that we have Celebrities that whine and complain about how bad their lives are and get more attention..I have just had it on how the media does not give any event the attention to raise the awareness that ANY special event deserves to help those that need it..
I can only ask that you guys out there do the right thing to help me or raise awareness to the special events that need it.. Lupus..Cancer..Ect...
Our voices united can make change...
Florida's biggest hill! Summiting Sugarloaf Mountain
Alex and I decided to drive out to Clermont to climb Florida's biggest hill, known as Sugarloaf mountain. This would be a pretty average hill anywhere else, but we couldn't resist the novelty. Surprisingly it's almost a 15% grade in some places, and goes on for about a half mile. If you've been to Florida you'll find this pretty amusing.
Transcript:
If you spend enough time on Wikipedia, it’s easy to get sucked into the wormhole. Recently I came across a list of the biggest hills—in Florida. This is only interesting because Florida is known for being flat everywhere.
Alex and I set out to climb the biggest of these hills on our bikes, and naturally treated the whole endeavor like one big joke. The hill in this picture doesn’t look bad at all, but then again, nothing does on the screen of your iPhone.
Sugarloaf mountain is the most prominent point in Florida, at 245 feet above the surrounding land. The elevation at the summit is 312—hardly a snow capped peak, but still pretty unusual for the sunshine state. In fact, it bests the biggest hills in both Louisiana and Delaware.
I’ve shown videos riding the North Shore of Long Island New York, which is known for being hilly. Clermont is hillier than that in most places.
For some reason we decided to tackle Sugarloaf mountain in the wrong order, descending it first before climbing back up. Alex was wearing flip flops and had his arm in a sling, and I was on a 36 pound fat tire BMX.
That was a hill.
Those who live by the sword, must die by the sword. It was time to pedal this monster back to the summit.
The climb took about five minutes, and it wasn’t that bad, but we were still amazed. Imagine seeing a palm tree in Denver, or a snowflake in Miami. Imagine seeing a rabbi at a Nascar race. I guess what I’m trying to say is that some things are interesting because they’re unexpected. Sugarloaf mountain definitely falls under this category, and so does this whole area North of Orlando.
Naturally, you’d wonder if there are any bike trails around these parts, and there are. Mount Dora has trails, and so does Ocala, with over 85 miles of singletrack and a huge freeride section built in an old quarry. As for Clermont, many road cyclists frequent the area for year round riding and a little taste of elevation.
If you’re from Florida and you ride bikes, Sugarloaf mountain should be on your bucket list, just to say you did. As for Alex and I, it was worth the drive just for the laughs. We were definitely not expecting to see a legitimate hill in Florida. Thanks for riding with me today and I’ll see you next time.
Gulf Coast Cycle Fest Bradenton Fl Nov 2 2008
We had a lot of fun riding this bike ride. We rode 30+ miles Nov. 2, 2008. This was a speedy course. We are glad to ride the flat lands of Florida whenever we get a chance. We look forward to next year. Oh, and what out for the head-winds.

Watch How Long It Takes For A Thief To Snatch A Locked Bicycle
Bike thieves are a big problem across the United States. We tested how long it would take for a thief to snatch a pricey bike. We loaned a $2,500 Trek mountain bike and security expert Jason Cecchettini planted hidden GPS and radio tracking device. We locked the bike to a signpost and soon enough, a man used a wire cutter to break the lock and take off with the bike. A wild chase ensued through the streets of North Hollywood. Using the tracking devices, we followed the thief and confronted him.
