Exploring Charleston, West Virginia (State Capital) June 19-23, 2017
Here are some of the things I saw on a recent trip to the West Virginia State Capital (Charleston) and South Charleston, WV. In South Charleston you will see the 33' tall Native American Burial Mound in the center of South Charleston, trains, a tour of town and a brief time lapse or two. In Charleston I tour the Capital area, walk along the Kanawa river, encounter many friendly curious squirrels. Charleston has no shortage of squirrels. I check out some of the trees and buildings, read some of the history, and even see people dancing in the street, while a band is playing dancing in the street. Along the way I pass the Governor's Residence. There is also a little bit of a drive between South Charleston, and Charleston.
I have done my best to remove voices and images of others I may have been with. If you are in this video, or your voice is in this video and you would like it edited out, just comment with the approximate time (minute and second) where this occurs. (If you just don't like it or have nasty comments, please don't post them.)

Roadtrip through Charleston, West Virginia | The Local Palate
Presented by The Local Palate, the premier magazine of southern food culture.
The Local Palate traveled to West Virginia to explore the unique culinary scene and cultural eats of this Southern mountain state. The journey began in the capital city of Charleston and continued on through Morgantown and Fayetteville, with necessary off-the-beaten-path stops along the way. In Charleston we dined in the East End neighborhood at the historic Bluegrass Kitchen and tried traditional West Virginia fare at the pool-hall turned restaurant, The Grill. We traveled up the winding curves of Bridge Road to dine at the contemporary restaurant South Hill Market & Cafe, tried chocolates, coffee, and handcut slabs of meat at the notable Capital Market, and winded down at Lola's Pizza for baked pies and sangria. Enjoy part one of West Virginia journey and follow us as we eat our way through beautiful Charleston, West Virginia.

Charleston West Virginia 4k Drone Video Tour
Charleston, West Virginia is home to more than 50 thousand and the central hub to a metropolitan area of more than 212 thousand. In this video, you'll see the top 30 sites in the downtown area. This city has an incredibly rich history. After the Revolutionary War, 1,250 acres of land at the mouth of Elk River was sold to Colonel Clendenin, who built the first settlement here, called Fort Lee in 1787. Charlestown got its name from the Colonel's father, Charles, when officially proclaimed in the 1793 Virginia General Assembly. When Virginia seceded from the Union in 1861, the western parts of Virginia, like Charleston, had mixed loyalties. Charleston changed hands twice during the Civil War and Lincoln issued a Presidential Proclamation making West Virginia the 35th state in 1863. In 1877, Charleston was chosen as the capital of West Virginia and the Capitol Building grounds were opened eight years later.
