London 4K - Westminster Drive - Driving Downtown - England
Monday morning drive around Westminster, home to a high concentration of visitor attractions and historic landmarks, including Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Palace of Westminster, and Westminster Cathedral.
Westminster is an area of central London within the City of Westminster, part of the West End, on the north bank of the River Thames. Westminster's concentration of visitor attractions and historic landmarks, one of the highest in London, includes the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.
Historically the area lay within St Margaret's parish, City & Liberty of Westminster, Middlesex.
The name Westminster (Old English: Westmynstre) originated from the informal description of the abbey church and royal peculiar of St Peter's (Westminster Abbey), literally West of the City of London (indeed, until the Reformation there was a reference to the 'East Minster' at Minories (Holy Trinity Priory, Aldgate) east of the City). The abbey was part of the royal palace that had been created here by Edward the Confessor. It has been the home of the permanent institutions of England's government continuously since about 1200 (High Middle Ages' Plantagenet times), and from 1707 the British Government — formally titled Her Majesty's Government.
In a government context, Westminster often refers to the Parliament of the United Kingdom, located in the UNESCO World Heritage Palace of Westminster — also known as the Houses of Parliament. The closest tube stations are Westminster and St James's Park, on the Jubilee, Circle, and District lines.
The area is the centre of Her Majesty's Government, with Parliament in the Palace of Westminster and most of the major Government ministries known as Whitehall, itself the site of the royal palace that replaced that at Westminster.
Within the area is Westminster School, a major public school which grew out of the Abbey, and the University of Westminster, attended by over 20,000 students. Bounding Westminster to the north is Green Park, a Royal Park of London.
Walking in LONDON / England (UK)????????- Westminster to Victoria Station - 4K 60fps (UHD)
We are in London for an evening walk in this great city.
Our tour starts at the Westminster Bridge near the Westminster Millennium Pier with a nice view of the London Eye.
The iconic Big Ben clocktower is still under construction yet there are many tourists around. Tonight some roads are dedicated to bicycles so we can only move slowly at first.
Soon near the Westminster Abbey we head south passing the Parliament Square Gardens into the backstreets of Westminster. We return to the busy streets again joining Victoria Street that we will walk all the way to Victoria Station.
There at London Victoria, which is also a railway terminus, we have a quick look around and end this walk.

London Westminster Walk
rrz518 follows the narration and walks thru London Westminster area on a nice Saturday afternoon. Westminster (/ˈwɛsmɪnstər, ˈwɛst-/) is an area of central London within the City of Westminster, part of the West End, on the north bank of the River Thames.[1] Westminster's concentration of visitor attractions and historic landmarks, one of the highest in London, includes the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.
Historically the area lay within St Margaret's parish, City & Liberty of Westminster, Middlesex.
The name Westminster originated from the informal description of the abbey church and royal peculiar of St Peter's (Westminster Abbey), literally West of the City of London, indeed until the Reformation there was a reference to the 'East Minster' at Minories (Holy Trinity Priory, Aldgate) east of the City; the abbey was part of the royal palace that had been created here by Edward the Confessor. It has been the home of the permanent institutions of England's government continuously since about 1200 (High Middle Ages' Plantagenet times), from 1707 the UK government instead, and is now the seat of British government.
In a government context, Westminster often refers to the Parliament of the United Kingdom, located in the UNESCO World Heritage Palace of Westminster - also known as the Houses of Parliament. The closest tube stations are Westminster, St James's Park on the Jubilee, Circle, and District lines.

Sights and Sounds of London, UK (Bridge Street to Westminster Bridge Morning Walk)
Westminster Bridge lies on the Thames between the Houses of Parliament and County Hall with the delights of the Southbank Centre and the National Theatre beyond. The view is exceptional in every direction, taking in Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Whitehall, the Strand, South Bank and beyond that the City and the London Eye. Take to the bridge for a sight that moved William Wordsworth to write these lines in 1802: Earth has not anything to show more fair: Dull would he be of soul who could pass by A sight so touching in its majesty.Description
Walking in London 2019, South Bank, Walk Around, Westminster
Walking in London 2019, South Bank, Walk Around, Westminster. Walking is a popular recreational activity in London, despite traffic congestion. There are many areas that provide space for interesting walks, including commons, parks, canals, and disused railway tracks. This includes Wimbledon Common, Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath, and the eight Royal Parks: Hyde Park, Regents Park, Richmond Park, etc. In recent years access to canals and rivers, including the Regent's Canal, and the River Thames has been greatly improved, and as well a number of long distance walking routes have been created that link green spaces. Walking Around South Bank London. The London Eye is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel] is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3.75 million visitors annually,[11] and has made many appearances in popular culture.
The structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft). When it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel. Its height was surpassed by the 525-foot (160 m) Star of Nanchang in 2006, the 165 metres (541 ft) Singapore Flyer in 2008, and the 550-foot tall (167.6 m) High Roller (Las Vegas) in 2014. Supported by an A-frame on one side only, unlike the taller Nanchang and Singapore wheels, the Eye is described by its operators as the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel.
The London Eye offered the highest public viewing point in London[13] until it was superseded by the 245-metre (804 ft) high[14] observation deck on the 72nd floor of The Shard, which opened to the public on 1 February 2013.
The London Eye adjoins the western end of Jubilee Gardens (previously the site of the former Dome of Discovery), on the South Bank of the River Thames between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge beside County Hall, in the London Borough of Lambeth.

London walk from Westminster to the London Eye: Walking in London 30-minute walk + Christmas Market
Walk from Westminster and the Houses of Parliament to the London Eye on a cold November morning. I set out from College Green opposite the Palace of Westminster, through the little-known Dean's Yard of Westminster Abbey and School, then past Westminster Abbey and across Parliament Square Garden, taking in Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament before crossing Westminster Bridge to join up with the Queen's Promenade which delivers us to the London Sealife Centre and the London Dungeon onto the London Eye and then the South Bank Christmas Market. I get a rare chance to walk around in the South Bank Skatepark before entering the Royal Festival Hall for a coffee:)
Timewise, this first-person, immersive London sightseeing walk takes you on a short route on foot from Westminster to the London Eye, which can be done in around 20 minutes at a good pace or 30 minutes or so if you take a more leisurely approach.
Route timestamps:
00:15 to 00:33 Train journey arriving at London Waterloo Station

London is a huge city that is great to walk in, so these London sightseeing walks take you through the main tourist sights in a super-efficient way.
Music: Scouting by Eveningland in the YouTube audio library
My equipment:
Gimbal - DJI Osmo 2 Mobile, I am not very good at using it:/
LG mobile phone - a bit on its last legs and overheating at all the hard work, but just about hanging in there.
Poor image quality is a combination of an old camera phone and me being rubbish with a gimbal!
I do the immersive first-person walks with these two items.
For vlogging to camera, I use my Canon G7X Mark ii. One day I hope to buy a proper camera gimbal so as to use the Canon for the actual filming, but this will take a bit of saving up for, and then a bit of learning! Probably by then my head will have been turned by a GoPro....
