DREW & AMANDAS 2016 WATERFALL ROADTRIP VACATION! WOOHOO!
These videos are from our road trip through the mountains of Western NC; including Brevard, Asheville, Sylva, Highlands, Hendersonville, Waynesville The Great Smokey Mountains, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont National Forest, and Nantahala National Forest. This was a 5 day trip with a different camp spot each night. Some of the places we visited and camped include Standing Indian Campground, Bridal Veil Falls , Mooney Falls , Dry Falls, Hooker Falls, Callasaja Falls, Triple Falls and much much more.
About Mooney Falls: THE LOCAL SCOOPMooney Falls cascades over a series of rocks making this is a nice spot to visit especially if staying in the Standing Indian area at either Standing Indian Campground or Hurricane Creek Primitive Campground & Horse Camp. We suggest pairing this waterfall with one of the area's multiple outdoor activities. Close by is Laurel Falls & Trail, Pickens Nose Trail, Albert Mtn Trail & Fire Tower along with many other foot trails, horse trails, fishing and biking opportunities. You and your family can easily enjoy the majority of these activities in one day, but we recommend splitting them up especially if you are camping for more than a day or two. Take your time with them, and enjoy the peaceful settings this area offers.

The A. Mitchell Pressley Estate Laurens County, South Carolina Saturday, August 9th 10:00AM
The chance of a lifetime is here! 108 Acres of beautiful riverfront property along the Reedy River in the South Carolina Up Country can be yours! This is a rare opportunity to purchase land at auction in Laurens County South Carolina, one of the fastest growing counties in the state! On Saturday, August 9th at 10:00 Auctions United will be selling the 108 acres of beautiful land in tracts along of Ekom Beach Road, along the Reedy River. It's just 45 minutes from Greenville. South Carolina.
The property was well known to long time residents of Laurens County. It was originally owned by the late A. Mitchell Pressley and has now passed on to his family. In 1950, Mr. Pressley took advantage of the increased mobility people enjoyed because of the automobile and opened a recreation facility near his farm and house on the Reedy River. Located on the same spot as an early nineteenth-century mill, Pressley built a roller-skating rink and a concession stand for people who came to swim in the river. Pressley often hosted families, church groups, and other organizations at his facility. Pressley called the place Ekom Beach. Today, the skating rink is gone. Only the old foundation is left. But, the Ekom Beach property still has the home and the log cabin that once served as a snack bar included in the sale.
The home is a large, 2400 square foot home that overlooks the Reedy River. It has an attached two-car garage, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large family room, kitchen, living room, and dining room. There is also an enclosed breezeway that also doubles as a laundry room.
The riverfront tracts are along a navigable part of the Reedy River, perfect for kayaking and canoeing. In fact, you can enter the river near Ekom Beach Road and the old mill and dam and float all the way to Lake Greenwood! It's a ready made recreational area just waiting to be developed by a good businessman.
A large portion of the land is on both sides of a stretch of the Reedy River near Ekom Beach Road. There are large areas of grassy pastureland perfect for horses or cattle farming. The rest of the terrain is made up of mostly wooded areas with good hardwood.
Financing is available to qualified buyers through Ag South Farm Credit. A representative will be on site the day of the sale. Contact John Livingston or Preston Culbertson in the Laurens office at 864-984-3379 or 800-521-6697.
