She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
I met her on Grafton street right outside of the bar
She shared a cigarette with me while her brother played the guitar
She asked me what does it mean the Gaelic ink on your arm?
Said it was one of my friend’s songs do you want to drink on?
She took Jamie as a chaser, Jack for the fun
She got Arthur on the table, with Johnny riding as shot gun
Chatted some more, one more drink at the bar
Then put Van on the jukebox, got up to dance, you know
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
With my pretty little Galway Girl
You’re my pretty little Galway Girl
You know she beat me at darts and then she beat me at pool
And then she kissed me like there was nobody else in the room
As last orders were called, was when she stood on the stool
After dancing the céilí, singing to trad tunes
I never heard Carrickfergus ever sung so sweet
Acapella in the bar using her feet for a beat
Oh I could have that voice playing on repeat for a week
And in this packed out room, swear she was singing to me
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
My pretty little Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
Now we’ve outstayed our welcome and it’s closing time
I was holding her hand, her hand was holding mine
Our coats both smell of smoke, whisky and wine
As we fill up our lungs with the cold air of the night
I walked her home then she took me inside
Finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine
I swear I’m going to put you in a song that I write
About a Galway girl and a perfect night
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said baby I just want to dance
My pretty little Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
My my my my my my my Galway girl
Explore Dalkey Island - 2017 - (Close to Dublin City, Ireland)
The song is called Juck by Dublin artist Nico Fitz
It is based on a Scottish seafaring song called Biodh An Deoch Seo 'N Làimh Mo Rùin
The lyrics, in English, read:
Whether he or the others were drinking
There would still be plenty on the table
The drink would be in my love's hand
Here's a health to the chief
The drink would be in my love's hand
A boat was seen on the waves
And the red hand at the helm
I saw it passing through the straits
With a clump of heather on the sail-yard
You who saw her out at sea
Bless the fair ship and her crew
The drink would be in my love's hand
Here's a health to the chief
The drink would be in my love's hand
Bless her high masts and her equipment
Her moorings and her sails
Though I am here in Coll
I long to go to Rhum
And from there to Uist
Were I to get my wish
The drink would be in my love's hand
Here's a health to the chief
The drink would be in my love's hand

After successfully shipping our van to England from Canada & enjoying our last week in Wales we decided to ferry over to Dublin, Ireland! In this week long van life vlog we explore the city of Dublin (Trinity College, Temple Bar, etc), enjoy the city of Cork and fall in love with the seaside town of Greystones. In Greystones we have the pleasure of meeting our new friends Dave & Steve of the Happy Pear! These two are leaders in the plant based movement in Ireland and across the world and it was a real pleasure getting to live a day in the life of the Happy Pear :). We then cut across the country to check out the Cliffs of Moher and choose the WORST camping spots since living in a van — we almost flooded our tiny house! Have no fear… we manage to call a tow truck in the knick of time. However, our bad luck with Mother Nature continues as we hit the Wild Atlantic Way just in time to be rained on for 3 days straight. Still learning to embrace this crazy weather ;)

Come By the Hills | Dublin Travels, Wild Wicklow Bus Tour | #kimbermaestudiesabroad
Before I talk about anything else: Yes, I see that a lot of the shots have a ring or some other reflection from my phone and some of the shots are a bit shaky and crooked. For filming on the go with my cellphone, it's not the worst thing that could have happened. Insert a ton of other excuses for mediocre cinematography here. ^^
We have finally hit the spring break portion of my study abroad experience! This segment of our trip was the first stop in an eleven-day marathon of 5 countries. Each country will be getting it's own video so expect more to come very soon!
Before we go on with a description of the trip, I gotta send out a quick thank you to friend and travel companion, Emily, for making this all happen. None of it would have been possible without you! I am so grateful for everything you have done. I wish you many more travels in the future~
So here we are in the Republic of Ireland! In our first night in Dublin, I had the chance see my aunt that I hadn't seen in about 10 years. It was so lovely being able to see her and catch up. I hope to see her again soon! (Love you, Tita Nicole!)
The majority of our stay consisted of a full day tour around the countryside. We took the Wild Wicklow Bus Tour and the sites I saw genuinely took my breathe away. If you look close enough, you could probably recognize a few locations in movies such as "Leap Year", "P.S. I Love You", and "Braveheart" as well as a notable mention of the History Channel show "Vikings". Our tour guide was absolutely lovely and definitely helped to make the tour a great one. Wild Wicklows, you get two thumbs up from me.~
As always, if there are any questions about my adventures abroad or just travelling in general, feel free to ask away and I will be happy to get back to you.
Until the next time,
Love always,
Megan.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT own the song "Buachaill ón Éirne" by Celtic Thunder. The use of this track is not for profit monetary or otherwise. For any hardcore Glee fans, you might recognize the voice as Damian McGinty. Fun fact for you.

Trip to Ireland | Day 1 | Dublin
READ FOR MORE INFO:
From October 15th to the 22nd, me and Pepper went on a trip to Dublin, Ireland. We stayed at a friend's house (THANK YOU ❤️) and made our way to city center on day 1.
In this video, you can see:
1- Bliss Café, on Dame Street. Had super delicious sandwiches and wraps, as well as amazing Teas. We came here lots during our stay.
2- Christ Church Cathedral. We ended up staying inside more than we realized. We wanted to see everything and were pleasently surprised to see it had a lower level. And guys, the floors were so cool!
3- City Hall. We came here close to closing and the security guard was super nice and let us in and told us a bit about the place. Here we met a nice old man (If anyone knows him, could you please tell us his name? We forgot to ask him and we'd love to know the name of this wonderful and helpful person).
4- St. Audoen's Church. This was our first stop with the kind Mr. We had seen online that this wasn't open during our visit but we were so happy to be proved wrong. We had a nice tour around the place and completely fell in love with it!
5- John's Lane Church. This wasn't even in our plan to start with and we were in awe with its beauty. Even though it's a more recent church, it doesn't lose to the other ones. It might have less history attatched to it, but it doesn't lose to beauty.
6- Fish n Chips. The Mr Nice Man brought us back to the city center and told us we couldn't leave Dublin without trying some Fish n Chips, with lots of vinegar and salt! We took his advice and had dinner right there and then. We didn't really like it but we were happy for the experience.
