Wild West City - Stanhope, NJ (USA): THE MOVIE

The Historic Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ
Join our Facebook Group at
A special thanks to William McCabe for the information on the history of the village. The Waterloo Village has been getting restored to its former glory. Like all restorations, it will take time. The old photos that are in the buildings help recreate in your mind what some of the villages looked like. I could not bring ya'll and photos of the photos due to they have a rule about not taking any photos from the inside of any building and we didn't receive a broacher of the village. Even so, it is still a nice place to visit and they accomplished great engineering feats 400 years ago. The Elbląg Canal, one of Seven Wonders of Poland, used the Morris Canal's technology as inspiration for its inclined planes; for that reason, the inclined planes on that canal strongly resemble those on the Morris canal. With a total elevation change of more than 900 feet (270 m), the canal was considered an ingenious technological marvel for its use of water-driven inclined planes, the first in the United States, to cross the northern New Jersey hills

⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Walking Jersey City, NJ (Narrated) : Newport, Hudson Exchange, The Waterfront, Exchange Place
Google Maps Route:
Enjoy this walk of Jersey City, New Jersey, only a short ride away from the NYC borough of Manhattan. I stick to the waterfront, visiting Newport, Hudson Exchange, and Exchange Place.
From Wikipedia
Jersey City is the second most populous city in the U.S. state of New Jersey, after Newark. It is the seat of Hudson County as well as the county's largest city. As of 2018, the Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program calculated that Jersey City's population was 265,549, with the largest population increase of any municipality in New Jersey since 2010, an increase of about 9.4% from the 2010 United States Census, when the city's population was at 247,597, ranking the city the 78th-most-populous in the nation.
Part of the New York metropolitan area, Jersey City is bounded on the east by the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay and on the west by the Hackensack River and Newark Bay. A port of entry, with 30.7 miles (49.4 km) of waterfront[34] and extensive rail infrastructure and connectivity, the city is an important transportation terminus and distribution and manufacturing center for the Port of New York and New Jersey. Jersey City shares significant mass transit connections with Manhattan. Redevelopment of the Jersey City waterfront has made the city one of the largest centers of banking and finance in the United States and has led to the district being nicknamed Wall Street West.
After a peak population of 316,715 measured in the 1930 Census, the city's population saw a half-century-long decline to a nadir of 223,532 in the 1980 Census. Since then, the city's population has rebounded, with the 2010 population reflecting an increase of 7,542 (+3.1%) from the 240,055 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 11,518 (+5.0%) from the 228,537 counted in the 1990 Census.

Waterloo Village Commercial, Stanhope NJ, 1984
Here's a fun thing to do if you like crafts, old-timey fun and also happen to have a time machine--The Waterloo Village Craft Show! Wouldn't you like to bend the laws of the universe in order to visit New Jersey in September of '84? Although I guess you could just go back to whatever era they're trying to recreate there. Maybe just watch the commercial, then go back in time to the real Waterloo and razz Napoleon a little. This is on trade compilation 34 at oldtvads.blogspot.com...

34 family members arrested in drug bust; $400k in cocaine seized
ELYRIA, Ohio - Elyria Police, Lorain Police and the Lorain County Sheriff's Department arrested 34 people—all related to each other in some way—in connection with $400,000 of cocaine seized.
The investigation started last year and ramped up in the past two months, culminating in the arrests Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, investigators said during a press conference Wednesday.
Authorities seized 3.4 kilos of cocaine, worth $400,000, five guns and $85,000 in cash.
The leaders of what's been dubbed the Burns, Milton and Tillman Drug Trafficking Organization by authorities are Jarvis Burns, 33, of Sheffield Lake, who paid for the cocaine, and his cousin Travis Milton, 32, of Elyria, who orchestrated large-scale buys from two dealers in Cleveland.
The large-scale transactions were at Burns' and Milton's grandmother Grace Milton's home on Tattersal Court in Elyria.
They bought $43,000 of cocaine from Christopher Craig, 43 and Bernard Washington, 44, both of Cleveland, investigators said.

Lackawanna Cut Off - Part 15: Saving the Cut-Off (1985-2001)
In our last episode, it looked like things couldn't get worse for the New Jersey Cut-Off after the tracks had been removed. Well, things will get worse...and that's what this episode is about...Saving the Cut-Off. Also included in this episode is part 2 of our interview with the president of the Pennsylvania Northeast Railroad Authority, Larry Malski, who will talk about this period of time from a Pennsylvania perspective. Finally, Chuck will talk about the people he would place in a Hall of Fame for having helped save the Cut-Off.

Following on the heels of the successful comeback album, New Audio Machine - a record chock full of rocking anthems -, TRIXTER are returning stronger than ever. “After the success of our last album, New Audio Machine, we felt more confident than ever in making another top notch album. I’m so proud to say that after more than 25 years of making records, TRIXTER is getting better and better. Human Era will show the world this band at it's finest,” says lead guitarist Steve Brown.
The new album sees TRIXTER sticking to their guns and delivering 11 new choice cuts, with a sound reminiscent of their earlier work which they were well known for in the ‘90s. For fans new to Trixter, their sound fits in nicely to an album collection next to Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC and even 70's classic rock mainstays.
Northern New Jersey’s TRIXTER’s self-titled debut album (1990) spawned three monster hit singles/videos with “Give It To Me Good”, “One in a Million” and “Surrender”, as well as an RIAA-certified Gold album. TRIXTER has toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Japan. They have performed in arenas and amphitheaters and have appeared live on numerous television and radio programs such as Entertainment Tonight, Pay-Per-View, VH-1, MTV, Z-Rock and MetalShop. TRIXTER has shared the stage with such rock heavyweights as Kiss, Boston, Scorpions, Poison, Cinderella, Warrant, Slaughter, Winger, Skid Row, Firehouse, Stryper, Dokken and more. The band recently nabbed the #29 spot on VH-1’s “Top 40 Hair Bands of All Time” countdown.
“Almost 30 years together and the band is tighter than ever! We are family and that makes everything we do more and more special. The title track HUMAN ERA really sheds insight into our story,” concludes Steve Brown.
HUMAN ERA track listing includes:
1. Rockin' To The Edge Of The Night
