Come Tour Stafford County, Virginia
I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor ( This video is about the really cool historical sites of Stafford County, Virginia. I talk about a couple of other sites in our county but I do show photos and a video of a couple others as well.
Some of the historical sites you could see in our area and within our county here in Stafford County, Virginia are:
1. The Aquia Episcopal Church which is a church here that is one of the oldest colonial churches in the United States of America. The church was first built in 1751 and burnt down in a fire in 1757 in which was rebuilt that very same year soon after the fire of 1757. The church is still being used to this day for Sunday church services but they do tours of the church but you have to call the church to make an appointment to tour this church.
2. Then we have Ferry Farm which is the childhood home for the first President of the United States of America, George Washington. Which is down in the Falmouth part of Stafford County in the southern part of the county.
3. Then we have the Aquia Quarry that is known as Government Island nearby the Aquia Creek. Which this place is where George Washington got the sandstone that built the White House and the U.S. Capital building in Washington, DC. Which basically is where the foundation of our nation's capital was brought from this spot directly to our nation's capital Washington, DC. So if you go to these two buildings in DC and wanted to see the place where the sandstone came from to build those buildings you would have to come here to Stafford County. All since it all came from here. And I made a video of Government Island and it was my first time over there. And now I've been living right around the corner from this place for 10 years and I finally got the courage to go there.
4. Then not far from here we have the battlefield sites for 5 Civil War battlefields close by as well. And a mansion that was built in colonial times that served as a headquarters and hospital for the Union army during the American Civil War during the Battle of Fredericksburg. Those 5 battlefields are from: the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, the Battles of Bull Run in Manassas, the Battle of the Wilderness, and the Battle of Chancellorsville.
5. We also have nearby in Triangle, Virginia right outside the main gate to the Quantico Marine Corps Base is the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Which outside of the museum is a monument park with bricks of names of people who has served in the United States Marine Corps. My father is one of those former MARINES who had served. His name was Captain Donald J St. Pierre his brick has his date of birth of 11/19/59 and his date of death of 07/05/03 on it. When you go to this museum you can remind yourself that man was my father when you see that brick at this museum.
6. We are also within the area of the historical Virginia city of Fredericksburg as well.
To learn more about our county you may visit our county's website at: Our county has been a county in Virginia since 1664 so we are a county that is now over 350 years old. We had just had our 350th anniversary of our founding back in 2014. I had put this video together because back when I was a student at the Washington, DC Job Corps Center. I told people I was from Stafford and they asked me. Where the heck is that place I've never heard of that place? And I have felt with the kind of history our county has I think this Virginia county should be the most famous Virginia county throughout the world. All since the foundation of our nation's capital came from here and we also have the childhood home of the very first president of our nation. The is where George Washington grew up. Plus that famous cherry tree story about Washington may have took place here back when Washington was a young boy. Since Washington grew up here from the ages of 3 to 19 at Ferry Farm.

Chancellorsville National Battlefield
The Battle of Chancellorsville was a major battle of the American Civil War, and the principal engagement of the Chancellorsville Campaign. It was fought from April 30 to May 6, 1863, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, near the village of Chancellorsville. The campaign pitted Federal Major General Joseph Hooker's Army of the Potomac against an army less than half its size, Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. Chancellorsville is known as Lee's perfect battle because his risky decision to divide his army in the presence of a much larger enemy force resulted in a significant Confederate victory. The victory, a product of Lee's audacity and Hooker's timid decision making, was tempered by heavy casualties and the mortal wounding of Confederate Lt. Gen. Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson.

Wild Animals in Midlothian, VA (just outside of Richmond, VA)
This is Speedy, the more aggressive hamster of the two brothers that I had. His brother, Taz, starred in The Hunt for Red October clip.
This was the fifth time that I had dwarf hamsters. My hamster history is as follows:
1. Mr. Mouse - lived alone, purchased from the now closed C&P Pet Shop of Christiansburg, VA (37°09′53.65″ N, 80°25′16.80″ W), buried in Blacksburg, Virginia behind Pack Place apartments building B (37°14′03.80″ N, 80°25′29.84″ W).
2. Zuun Gar - Djungarian hamster who lived alone, purchased from the now closed C&P Pet Shop of Christiansburg, VA (37°09′53.65″ N, 80°25′16.80″ W), buried behind a bush in the NW corner of the most NW part of the parking lot for Indigo apartments of Winter Park, FL (28°35′47.02″ N, 81°18′38.65″ W).
3. Bartholomew a.k.a. Bart - lived alone. Purchased from Petsmart at 3232 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803 (28°33′06.18″ N, 81°20′26.77″ W) (could actually be from the PetSmart just east of the aforementioned one on Colonial Dr, as only one of the two offered dwarf hamsters). He is buried at a private property in Virginia (location might be released later).
4. Blood Butt and Rafael - brothers purchased at PetSmart at 1276 Carmia Way, Richmond, VA 23235 (37°30′31.73″ N, 77°36′15.54″ W) and lived most of their lives together but were eventually separated due to fighting. They lived in a Toyota Camry with their owner from February 22nd, 2015 to July 6th, 2015 after driving across the continental United States and back. They were given too much free reign on the streets of Burbank, CA as I often set them loose and a couple times was not able to catch them quickly enough to avoid danger. One had a near-drowning accident after he managed to climb inside a cup of ice that was used many times before as an informal air conditioning method inside their hamster house. They are buried at the same private property in Virginia (location might be released later).
5. Speedy and Taz - Brothers purchased at PetSmart at 1276 Carmia Way, Richmond, VA 23235 (37°30′31.73″ N, 77°36′15.54″ W). They had to be separated shortly after acquiring them from PetSmart. They became YouTube famous hamsters. No sponsors or solicitations were allowed. Contact agent for information regarding hamsters. [Taz passed away on March 17th, 2019 and Speedy passed away on May 21st, 2019 and they are buried at the same location as Bart, Blood Butt, and Rafael.]
Fredericksburg Battlefield, VA, US - Part 1
Please visit for full video and more free videos. Fredericksburg is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia located 50 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 58 miles north of Richmond. It is a part of the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Located on the Rappahannock River near the head of navigation at the fall line, Fredericksburg developed as the frontier of colonial Virginia shifted west out of the coastal plain.
Named for Frederick, Prince of Wales, son of King George II, the colonial town's streets bore the names of members of the royal family.
The city has close associations with George Washington, whose family moved to Ferry Farm in Stafford County just off the Rappahannock opposite Fredericksburg in 1738.
Other significant early residents include the Revolutionary War generals Hugh Mercer and George Weedon, naval war hero John Paul Jones, and future U.S. president James Monroe.
During the American Civil War, Fredericksburg gained strategic importance due to its location midway between Washington and Richmond, the opposing capitals of the Union and the Confederacy.
During the battle of Fredericksburg, December 11 - 15, 1862, the town sustained significant damage due to bombardment and looting at the hands of Union forces.
A second battle was fought in and around the town on May 3, 1863, in connection with the Chancellorsville campaign (April 27, 1863 - May 6, 1863).
The battles of the Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House were fought nearby in May 1864.
Today Fredericksburg is the commercial hub of a rapidly growing region in north central Virginia.
The national military park preserves portions of the battlefields of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Court House. The Fredericksburg National Cemetery, also part of the park, is located on Maryes Heights on the Fredericksburg battlefield and contains more than 15,000 Union burials from the areas battlefields.

Battle of Spotsylvania
On May 8, 1864 the Union army seized initiative by moving from Wilderness to Spotsylvania Court House. That shift changed the course of the war as the armies began the road to Lees surrender at Appomattox Court House.
Chatham Manor is a historic building that served as a headquarters and hospital during the battle.
Driving Tour: There are two sections of the battlefield; Prospect Hill and Marye's Heights. A five-mile driving tour links the two sections beginning at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at the base of Marye's Heights.
