A fun trip aboard a train and a steam paddle boat on the Wilhelm Tell Express route.. Travels the Alps from just north of Lugano to Lucerne, Switzerland.

Shot in August 2009 along the Wilhelm Tell Express route from Lucern to Locarno. The route starts by paddle wheel steamer and continues by train into the Ticino region of Switzerland

The William Tell Express or Willhelm Tell Express as the Swiss say, is half land (via scenic train), half water (via paddle steamer, if you wish). And, you're halfway there.
Like William Tell himself, this trip really hits the mark with breathtaking scenery through Switzerland. Starting with a lunch cruise on Lake Lucerne, followed by a train trip ending in Ticino.

Zwitserland mag je niet missen als je ervan geniet om met de trein te reizen. Het land staat bekend om zijn vele spoorwegbedrijven (elk met zijn eigen spoor en treinen) en spectaculaire routes over smalle passen met mooie uitzichten op de valleien. In dit deel van de uitzending vertrekken we van Luzern met de Wilhelm Tell Express. De reis gaat door naar Fluelen en Gosschenen en komt tot een einde via de Gotthard tunnel in het Italiaans sprekende gedeelte van Zwitserland. Hier ligt Locarno, bekend door de Centovallibahn die hier vertrekt.
