(HD Quality) The Battle of Wilson's Creek; The story of Missouri in the Civil War.
At the beginning of the American Civil War, Missouri declared that it would be an armed neutral in the conflict. Their neutrality was put to a major test on May 10, 1861, in what became known as the Camp Jackson Affair.
Governor Claiborne F. Jackson was secretly for the confederacy and St. Luis had the largest arsenal west of the Mississippi.
This lead to much fighting in Missouri with the largest of them being Wilson Creek.
Civil War Battlefield; Bull Run / Manasas
Manassas was the first major battle of the American Civil War and was a Confederate victory. The battle was fought on July 21, 1861 in Manassas Junction a popular railrord intersection and about 25 miles west-southwest of Washington, D.C.
This was the place where Jackson received his famous nickname, Stonewall.

ALVIN YORK - WikiVidi Documentary
Alvin Cullum York , also known as Sergeant York, was one of the most decorated United States Army soldiers of World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking 35 machine guns, killing at least 25 enemy soldiers, and capturing 132. York's Medal of Honor action occurred during the United States-led portion of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France, which was intended to breach the Hindenburg line and force the Germans to surrender. York was born in rural Tennessee. His parents farmed, and his father worked as a blacksmith. The eleven York children had minimal schooling, because they helped provide for the family, which included hunting, fishing, and hiring out as laborers. After the death of York's father, he assisted in caring for his younger siblings, and found work as a logger and on construction crews. Despite being a regular churchgoer, York also drank heavily, and was prone to fistfights. After a 1914 conversion experience, he...

The Spanish Flu Pandemic: Influenza in Montgomery County
Alan Hawk spoke to an audience at the 2018 Montgomery County History Conference.
This presentation explores how the “Spanish Flu” spread through Montgomery County, Maryland, and its effect on its population. Even a century after the pandemic, Montgomery County continues to have a role in characterizing and understanding 1918 Influenza Virus. In 1918, Montgomery County, Maryland was a rural county with a growing suburb served by the Metropolitan Line of the B&O Railroad and an expanding trolley car network. When the Spanish Flu arrived in the county it was mobilizing for World War I. On September 28, a 9-year old boy died of Lobular Pneumonia and Influenza in Forest Glen, Maryland. During the next five months, over 200 Montgomery County residents would die of influenza and/or pneumonia. However, Montgomery County’s role with the Spanish Flu did not end in 1919. In 1996, Jeffrey Taubenberger and Ann Reid of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology used pathological specimens to isolate and sequence a portion of the genetic structure of the influenza virus.
Nearly a century after the pandemic, federal civilian and military public health agencies monitor any incidences of emerging novel influenza strains that may arise worldwide to ensure the best available and proper countermeasures are in place before a pandemic occurs.

Also covered is the Communist Party's attempts to help the poor during the Depression.
Watch: House final vote on articles of impeachment (FULL LIVE STREAM)
The full House of Representatives will debate and vote on the articles of impeachment. If at least one of the articles passes, Trump will be the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. If the House decides to impeach, the Senate will hold a trial to consider if Trump should be removed from office. On this historic day, The Post’s Libby Casey will be joined by Washington Post reporters Elise Viebeck, Amber Phillips, and Rhonda Colvin to take you through the process.
Trump is the fourth president in U.S. history to face impeachment, which could be approved this week on the House floor.
