Backpacking Overnight - Wilson Creek
My bud Riley and I take a quick 7 mile backpacking over night trip to the Wilson Creek, Hunt Fish Falls Loop located in the Pisgah National Forest near outside of Lenoir, North Carolina. The loop is also known as the Lost Cove Loop trail as well. Along the way we check out Hunt Fish Falls, Grag Prong Falls, swim in a sweet water hole, get chased by a snake and many more adventures happen along the way. I also try out several Packit Gourmet and spend my first night in my new Dream Hammock Freebird. The trail had many water crossings and several challenging up hills to tackle. With the trip being on July 4th weekend all the Fourth of July hikers were out in full force but it was still one epic hiking, camping adventure!

This creek flows from Grandfather Mountain in western North Carolina. It runs close to Lenoir N.C. The scenery is outstanding, with many waterfalls. (extremely popular)
Wilson's Creek Brown Mountain Beach!
This is our outing to the beach, the mountain beaches, includes crystal clear water, water falls, cliff jumping (okay Rock jumping), we even had a rock shaped like a big lounge chair. This was an exciting and funfilled day!! July 8th 2010!! Hope you all enjoy.

Our Independent Spirit - LITC Season 4 Episode 18
Carl White travels back in time for a visit at historic Fort Defiance, then visits Top of the Hill Distillery in Chapel Hill, NC and celebrates the release of a rehabilitated American Bald Eagle at the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville NC.
We had a great time at Fort Defiance, the people of Caldwell County were very helpful and accommodating during our production. We love stories of history and when we can have a bit of fun, it makes it all the better. If everyone enjoys watching it as much as we enjoyed producing it, everyone will have a great time.
The period music in the segment was performed by local musicians Kay and Patrick Crouch (Local) and tapped on location. Barry Stevens (Arlington, Virginia) as Benjamin Franklin, Tom Pitz (Orange, VA) as Thomas Jefferson, Clinton Byers (Local) as Major General Lenoir and Becky Phillips (Local) as Mrs. Lenoir.
Our visit to Top Of the Hill Distillery in Chapel Hill was met with great hospitality. Scott and this team were great to work with during our production.

The Foothills of North Carolina suffered major flooding on the evening of May 18th, 2018. Areas affected were Wilson Creek, Anthony Creek and John's River. This was the scene on the morning of May 19th after the water had receded 4-6 feet.

Wilson's Creek Gorge near Morganton, NC and upstream of Brown Mountain Beach is some dang fun creeking. A description of rapids is given as well as the bird's eye view of running most of the river (9 minutes). It is one of the most popular whitewater runs in the southeast, coming off Grandfather Mountain like the Watauga and Linville rivers from the other sides. Big granite slabs and huge boulders as well as crystal clear water characterize this roadside run. This version was re-downloaded in a HD format because it has been so popular. It's the ultimate guide for someone who has not been on the river before.
