Florence and Tuscany | Tuscan Wine Tour and Firenze
Hi and Welcome back to our Italy 2019 Mother-Daughter Vlogs!
In this vlog we left Lake Como for Firenze! It was my first time back to this lovely city in years, so I was excited to explore Florence with my mom and sisters. We had a lovely time taking in all the sites, and eating a lot of street food, especially gelato! Florence is a small city and so we decided to do a Tuscan Wine Tour. We visited Fattoria Poggio Alloro to start, where we sampled some wines, and ate cheese. We also got to meet the Chianina cows, and this for me was a bit traumatic. I had a strong emotional response to seeing these beautiful creatures. Next we visited the medieval town of San Gimignano, and got to explore this lovely historic town. After this we headed to our final winery called Tenuta Torciano. I personally really loved the winery, as we sampled many types of delicious wine, and ate a really lovely Florentine meal as well. It was very delicious and Gabriele was very sweet and charismatic. I recommend a wine tour when in Florence, there are a lot of options to consider in terms of wineries in Tuscany! 4 DAYS IN TUSCANY: Florence, Siena, Chianti Wine Tasting, and more!
Tuscany was our second stop in our 20-day babymoon in Italy! We used Siena and Florence as our base for travel to the surrounding countryside. From Siena, we joined a small group tour and visited Monterrigioni, San Gimignano, and Volterra. From Florence, we joined a wine tasting tour that took us to wineries of both Florentine and Sienese Chianti Classico wines and to the small towns of Greve and Castellina. Tuscany was gorgeous!

Tuscany Truffle Hunting & Chianti Wine Tour from Florence
This is a shared tour that departs every day from Florence to explore the famous truffle region of San Miniato. You will meet Francesca and her family in a typical Tuscan farm that is set 10 min away from San Miniato.
Tour departs in the morning from Florence at 9:45 am and the meeting point is set in Piazza Cavalleggeri. We will be driving towards San Miniato and the ride will take just 1 hr.
The experience takes place in a forest just 10 min walk from Francesca's farm, this is a private property known for the abundance of truffles and between October and November is an excellent spot to find white precious truffles.
The hike is open to everyone but we discourage people that have bad mobility and since this a food and wine experience open to small groups only, we accept only people with a minimum of 18 yrs old.
The lunch takes place in Francesca's family villa and food is homemade prepared with the freshly found truffles, also the wine comes from Francesca's winery.
After this great lunch, we will be ready to drive toward the Chianti Classico wine region to stop in a very special winery to have a wine tasting of Tuscan wines.
The ride tp the winery is about 40 min long and the winery is set in a renaissance setting that was home of Medici family in the XV century.
You will be exploring the cellar with a knowledge English guide provided by the winery itself and eventually, you will have a guided wine tasting with one of ITALY AND WINE wine experts.
At about 4 pm we will be all ready to go back to Florence where we will be arriving by 4:45 p.m.

Wine tasting in Tuscany by ITALY AND WINE
The most famous of all Tuscan wines is Chianti, a red wine produced in the Chianti region. Chianti is made from the Sangiovese grape, which has elements of summer fruit and spices, and varies greatly in quality. There is adistinction between Chianti and Chianti Classico -- wines from the latter being produced in a region known for producing 'Chianti' prior to the new 1932 classification. It is often felt that these wines are of a higher standard.
