Ilfracombe & Woolacombe are two of the top attractions located in North Devon. Woolacombe is a Clean well run beach with great nearby facilities - toilets, parking, surf hire. Plenty to do and well lifeguarded. Great for surfing. Ilfracombe is a seaside resort and civil parish on the North Devon coast, with a small harbour surrounded by cliffs.

Woolacombe is a golden sandy beach, several miles long, located in the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Very popular with surfers and well-served by Woolacombe village, a bustling seaside resort.

That being said, the beach is absolutely huge so there is plenty of space if you're willing to walk for it. Storm Desmond Causes Rough Seas Down South - Woolacombe, North Devon (6.12.15)
Although the main brunt of Storm Desmond hit Northern England and Scotland, it's effects could still be seen down in the South.
This footage was shot just north of Woolacombe Beach on Saturday the 6th December 2015. I noticed on Magicseaweed.com that there was a fairly significant swell heading in off the Atlantic that would bring waves of 8-15 foot as you can see in this video. It's difficult to put the size of these waves into perspective through video footage but I tried as best I could.
