Worli Sea Face-Mumbai
Worli is a locality in the city of Mumbai, India. Historic spellings: Varli, Worlee, Warli. Sachin Ahir is the elected MLA from worli.Worli was one of the original seven islands that constituted the city of Mumbai. Although primarily a fishing village, the Worli Fort, a British fort that is now in ruins, is located there. Worli later became known as the land of the Kalsi.
Worli has a mosque, the Haji Ali Dargah, on a rock in the sea, which was connected at low-tide to the island by a natural causeway. The island of Worli was connected to the main island of Mumbai in 1784, with the completion of the Hornby Vellard. The Hornby Vellard is now known as Lala Lajpat Rai Road.
In 1842, the Love Grove sewage pumping station was completed. It has special mitre gates opening to the sea, which are opened during periods of low tide. The pumping station is built on Dr Annie Besant road which was formerly known as the Love Grove Road.

Bandra – Worli Sea Link Mumbai
The Bandra–Worli Sea Link, officially called Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts on either side that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai. The bridge is a part of the proposed Western Freeway that will link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district.

The first four of the eight lanes of the bridge were opened to the public on 30 June 2009. All eight lanes were opened on 24 March 2010.
The sea-link reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli during peak hours from 60–90 minutes to 20–30 minutes. As of October 2009, BWSL had an average daily traffic of around 37,500 vehicles. The sunrise & sunset views attract many photo enthusiasts. Stopping on the Worli sea link for photography is banned by Govt of Maharashtra.

Body Of Woman Found At Worli Sea Face, Mumbai
The body of a 58-year-old woman, yet to be identified, was found on Sunday at the Worli Sea Face amidst rocks and boulders, police said.
WORLI FORT WORLI SEA FACE PRABHADEVI BEACH
Today, Worli is one of the prime hubs for commercial activity, construction of residential and commercial real estate and one of the resurgent parts of Bombay city!
Worli was one of the original seven islands that constituted the city of Mumbai. Although primarily a fishing village, the Worli Fort, a British fort that is now in ruins, is located there. Its original resident was the legendary Dishankeshwar Kalsi who has also been recognized in several periodicals of the time as India's first homosexual stage performer. Kalsi's lavanis were popular across the western coast of India and he was known to perform questionable acts on stage with his pet goat. He was eventually shot dead by a British soldier, allegedly his lover, when he caught Dishankeshwar in a compromising position with a rooster.
Mumbai formerly known as Bombay in English, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populous city in India, and the fourth most populous city in the world, with a total metropolitan area population of approximately 20.5 million. Along with the neighbouring urban areas, including the cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it is one of the most populous urban regions in the world. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbour. In 2009, Mumbai was named an Alpha world city. Mumbai is also the richest city in India, and has the highest GDP of any city in South, West or Central Asia.
The seven islands that came to constitute Mumbai were home to communities of fishing colonies. For centuries, the islands were under the control of successive indigenous empires before being ceded to the Portuguese and subsequently to the British East India Company. During the mid-18th century, Mumbai was reshaped by the Hornby Vellard project, which undertook the reclamation of the area between the seven constituent islands from the sea. Completed by 1845, the project along with construction of major roads and railways transformed Bombay into a major seaport on the Arabian Sea. Economic and educational development characterised the city during the 19th century. It became a strong base for the Indian independence movement during the early 20th century. When India became independent in 1947, the city was incorporated into Bombay State. In 1960, following the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, a new state of Maharashtra was created with Bombay as capital. The city was renamed Mumbai in 1996.
Bombay now Mumbai had a total of 11 Forts built to protect the city from the sea-routes.A tour of Worli Fort situated in Worli Village in Mumbai. This Fort was built by the British in 1675 and was on the verge of collapse and total disintegration until a few years ago. Finally, citizen awareness of preserving Mumbai's historical edifices and petitions in the media resulted in Mumbai's politicians deciding to repair all old monuments and forts in the city.
Worli Fort has undergone a total face-lift but in the process its ancient looks have totally disappeared, resembling more of a Disneyland artificial fort rather than an edifice over 300 years old.
The Bandra-Worli Sea Link bridge named Rajiv Gandhi Setu was inaugurated by United Progressive Alliance Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday(30-6-2009) and can be viewed in its totality from the Worli Fort, a configuration of ancient and modern architectural marvels.Hope Worli fort gets some tourist attention after construction of the Bandra-worli Sealink as it provides a grand spectacle from its summit of the entire Mumbai bay .Strangely, this fort was totally neglected and crumbling, although situated in prime Mumbai with a fishing village that is unique to bustling populated Mumbai.
Worli is one of most famous places in Mumbai and it is also expensive. There are many things to see around here.
Nehru centre was built in 1972 and named after first Prime Minister of India Jawarlal Nehru. Next to Nehru Center, there is Nehru Planetarium. It has a dome theatre and it features shows which gives information about
the cosmos. And just next to it, there is Nehru Science center. This is India's largest interactive science center. It is interesting. You must visit there.
Worli fort was built by British in 1675. Mumbai then was a city of seven islands. This little fort was built to keep an eye over the sea. Now it has a good view of the famous Bandra Worli Sea link.
Just when you get down to worli from Bandra Worli sea link, you reach Worli sea face. Its a good hangout place. You can just chill here with friends in evening.
If you keep going towards South, there are actually few galleries, sports academies and colleges around here. There is Sardar Patel indoor sports arena. There is Mahalakshmi Race course.
Haji Ali Dargah is built on an islet little off the coast. It was built in 1431 there. It was built in the name of a Muslim merchant Sayyed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.
