Guangdong Road was once the gathering place of theaters, teahouses and brothels; the eastern section of Guangdong Road is also the stack of foreign banks.
Part of Zhengxing Street, Luyuan, Guangdong, has the first public telephone booth in Shanghai.
The western section of the road is dominated by commercial and residential areas.
