CUHK Professor Mun Kin Chok Discusses 'The Application of Yijing in Leadership' (Event Highlight)
To celebrate the launch of the new Executive Education Centre of the CUHK Business School, located in the CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute, Professor Mun Kin Chok gave a talk on 'The Application of Yijing (I Ching) in Leadership' to fellow alumni and friends on 14 January 2012.
A distinguished scholar in the field of marketing, Professor Mun is currently Professor Emeritus of Marketing of the CUHK. During his 31 years with the CUHK, Professor Mun has assumed important administrative posts and made remarkable contributions to the overall development of the university. Among these achievements, he has contributed significantly to the application of classic Chinese philosophy, particularly Yijing (I Ching), in modern management.
The talk attracted a wide-ranging audience comprising Professor Mun's former students and colleagues as well as his long-time friends and 'fans' from diverse professional backgrounds. Throughout the 90-minute event, the charismatic Professor Mun impressed everyone with his broad knowledge that blends traditional Chinese wisdom with a deep understanding of modern management theories and practices.
The Executive Education Centre is an ideal venue for training senior executives. Since opening in November 2011, the Executive Education Centre has been the primary venue for the EMBA (Chinese) Program, and students have been very pleased with its state-of-the-art facilities.

Documentary of Shenzhen Tram
Shenzhen Tram is a light rail system consisting of three tram lines in Longhua District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Construction commenced on 27 December 2013 and public testing started on 30 June 2017, with the system fully opening on 28 October 2017. The tram system integrates the north side of Longhua into the city’s rail network and is expected to significantly ease commuting difficulties, especially since the northern extension of Shenzhen Metro Line 4 is still being planned.
The initial system consists of 11.7 km and three lines. The tram will link Qinghu Station on Line 4 of the Shenzhen Metro with central Guanlan, with service to Longhua areas including Automobile Industry City, Guanlan Strategic New Industries Park and the Science and Technology Service Center. It will eventually connect with Shenzhen Metro Line 4 at Xinlan Station. There will be 21 stations at a cost of about 1.38 billion RMB (US$226 million). It is expected to help residents commute and relieve traffic congestion in the local area. A 3.8-kilometer spur links Guanlan New Industry Park with Dahe Road. The spur is expected to cost 218 million RMB.
