Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - Four Seasons, Big Island of Hawaii
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters
Four Seasons resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. See it from the air on an air tour from the Waikoloa heliport.
THE BLUE HAWAIIAN DIFFERENCE There's simply no argument: Blue Hawaiian is Hawaii's #1 helicopter tour company. Blue Hawaiian's aircraft maintenance technicians have received the FAA's coveted Certificate of Excellence, Diamond Award every year since 1998. No other helicopter tour company in Hawaii has ever received this critical recognition. Blue Hawaiian was honored by the FAA for its record 12th straight year in January, 2009, at a ceremony in Honolulu, and the FAA further honored Blue Hawaiian with the very first Certificate of Excellence, Platinum Award. And Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii certified by the Department of Defense.
Welcome to the Blue Skies of Hawaii. Blue is the only helicopter tour company serving all four major Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. That means wherever you go in the Islands of Aloha, you know exactly how to get the world's finest aerial tours: just remember the color of the sky.
We don't just operate the best equipment, we help develop it. From the ultra-quiet, spacious, and powerful 21st-century Eco-Star helicopter to the breakthrough Garmin G500H technology, which gives our pilots astonishing three-dimensional synthetic vision terrain awareness in less than optimal weather; from our pioneering of multi-camera in-flight video, to designing vastly improved cockpit air-conditioning—Blue Hawaiian is always at the forefront of leading-edge innovations for your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Because when it comes to our guests, good enough is never enough.
The finest pilots in the sky. Blue Hawaiian prides itself on hand-picking only the finest and most experienced pilots—the absolute cream of the profession—and every one of them is a State of Hawaii Certified Tour Guide. Blue Hawaiian is also the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii with its own state-of-the-art Flight Simulator, and the only one that puts its pilots through annual factory and FAA recurrent training.

Mameas of Hawaii Win 7 5M Tripler Verdict, Personal Injury Lawyer, Judith Ann Pavey
KIDNEY STONE PATIENT ON DIALYSIS FOR LIFE BECAUSE OF PHYSICIAN ERROR
Hawaii Federal District Court Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi awarded $7,378,872.57 to Siuila Mamea who did not receive proper medical treatment for multiple kidney stones in 1997-8 at Tripler Army Medical Center.
As a result of the improper care, Mrs. Mamea has undergone dialysis three times a week for the last five years. Without a successful kidney transplant, she must receive dialysis for the rest of her life. Her husband, Felise Mamea received $150,000 for damage to their relationship as husband and wife.
Judge Kobayashi found that Tripler Army Medical Center urology residents (1) treated the kidney stones in a way that damaged her kidneys, and (2) failed to implement the follow-up treatment for management of Mrs. Mamea’s kidney stone disease.
Mrs. Mamea was in her mid-20’s when she was treated by Tripler residents, and thought she was fine when discharged. Because the Tripler urology residents failed to prescribe ongoing medical management, several years later her physician found that her kidneys had been irreversibly damaged.
It is extraordinarily rare for a patient on dialysis to become pregnant, but Mrs. Mamea did. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl last year, giving her a reason a reason to live.
Judith Ann Pavey and Mark D. Kamitomo were co-counsel for the case. Ms. Pavey said she is pleased with the verdict and hopes that Mrs. Mamea will receive a life-extending kidney transplant in the near future.
If Tripler appeals the verdict, the appeal process could extend her suffering for at least 2 more years.
Judith Ann Pavey has over 40 years of experience in litigation and litigation related alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Pavey came to Hawaii and established her reputation as a skillful and successful lawyer in criminal, personal injury and other civil litigation matters. Later, Ms. Pavey started her own firm and continued to focus primarily on plaintiffs’ personal injury cases, including those involving medical/legal malpractice and defective products causing substantial physical and/or economic damages. Ms. Pavey has the highest rating (AV) from Martindale Hubbell for both her skill and ethics.
Mark D. Kamitomo has over 20 years experience in medical malpractice and product liability law and bases his practice in Spokane, Washington. Mr. Kamitomo is President and owner of The Markam Group law firm, president-elect of the Washington Trial Lawyers Association, and was recently named Washington State Trial Lawyer of the Year. Mr. Kamitomo has had numerous multi-million dollar verdicts around the United States, and in Texas, specializes in football helmet injuries resulting in quadriplegia. Mr. Kamitomo also has extensive experience with birth injury causing Cerebral Palsy.

O`ahu, Hawaii - Flight over the Ko'olau Saddles (GoPro POV)
Welcome to the RLU-1 Breezy Experimental Aircraft!
The flight plan had us depart Kalaeloa Airport in Barbers Point, perform a touch and go on the same runway before departing to the northeast towards Kalihi Valley. From there we buzzed the Kalihi saddle and popped out on the windward side where we turned around and performed another fly by of the Kalihi saddle once again before turning towards the Nu'uanu saddle and buzzing that. We continued on the windward side of the Ko'olau cliffs, doing a fly by of Piliwale and Bear Claw Ridges. Olomana was next, coming within hundreds of feet of Ahiki before heading in the direction of the Haiku Stairs, buzzing Nu'uanu and Kalihi saddle once more. While flying over the Stairway to Heaven, we noticed someone climbing up the stairs. My pilot honked (the plane was equipped with a horn) but the climber did not respond. We then flew over the Moanalua Saddle back to central O`ahu where we flew over the Kunia pineapple fields before heading back to Kalaeloa Airport to conclude our epic flight!
Mahalo nui loa to Brian (my pilot and owner of the plane) for giving me an opportunity to see the Ko'olaus in which I've hiked numerous times from many parts of the mountain range, from a perspective never viewed before personally!
Can you find the climber on Stairway to Heaven? =)
Best Place to Stay on Kauai
Best Place to Stay Kauai
Great place to stay in Lihue, Kauai! Renting a room in Hawaii can be frustrating but if you don't plan ahead it sometimes doesn't matter.
This room was $150 with tax but if you walk-in that is don't call ahead you might be able to get it for less - loved this room though - you can't beat it! Great wifi too.
The staff is wonderful and this is an excellent location on Kalapaki Bay right across the street. Favorite place in Hawaii to rent a room.
