When you think Congo, tourism isn’t the first thing that jumps to mind. Most people think of war or disease and those that do come are here for business.
Located 90 miles from Kinshasa, an early morning pick-up took us to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen in my life.
Zongo Waterfalls goes deep into the Congolese rainforest and into the heart of darkness you've always imagined. The beauty of Africa is that not as much has been developed and so there is still a lot of greenery. It is raw, real and relaxing. Water charges from the mountains of Bas Congo's equatorial forests and falls on rocks 65 meters through the jungle canopy to the ground.
How small we are in the grand scheme of things.
