Zouk - Singapore
Located in a historical warehouse on the banks of Singapore River, Zouk has been awarded Best Nightspot Experience by the Singapore Tourism Board and given top spots in DJ magazine's list of top clubs in the world for numerous years. Leading the Singapore's dance music culture, the night spot is famous for its Mambo Jambo theme clubbing night held every Wednesday. The event is popular among the young crowd and is a ritual for many beginners of the local clubbing scene.

One of Asia’s longest-running annual dance music festival, ZoukOut, brings Asia’s best nightclub and the 3th ranked nightclub in the world, Zouk, to the great outdoors. The festival is also Asia’s largest dusk-to-dawn beach festival in the region. Programming for ZoukOut runs over 12 hours with the last night of the two-day festival ending only at 8:00am.
The 17th edition for ZoukOut with an expected crowd of close to 40,000 fans descent onto Siloso Beach, Sentosa in Singapore on the 8th & 9th of December 2017. As a pioneer of the dance scene in the region, ZoukOut has over the years spearheaded the festival and dance music scene by putting together world-class stage productions, immersive experiences and a promise of some of the world’s biggest names in dance music.
Built on the “One World, One Music, One Tribe, One Dance” foundation that Zouk Singapore has been governed by throughout its 26 years of history, ZoukOut was created with the intention of gathering a community of music lovers beyond the limitations of an indoor space at one immersive and experiential festival.

During the opening night our team made the show by one hand Rebeca Sanchez at MADRIX control and by the other hand Jim Stas with the GrandMA for the rest of the lighting fixtures. A total of 850 metres of digital LED strip RGBW - which has individual control across every 8.5cm as a single pixel - is embedded in the central mothership structure that measures seven metres in diameter. While the eight perimeter pieces, each 4.5-metres by five-metres features 3,500 RGB pixel dots. These are controlled via Madrix LUNA 4/8/16 Art-Net nodes and Madrix software packages with their accompanying keys. “The patch in the Madrix system was very complex as the perimeter pieces are all not configured in the same way. We had to select pixel by pixel to create the shape in Madrix. In total, we have more than 120 DMX universes for the control of the LEDs.”
