Seaside Marketplace at Saquatucket Marina, Harwich Port | Meet the Vendors Week 4
One of the primary intended outcomes of the 2018 Saquatucket Harbor Landside Renovation project was to modernize the Town’s popular and valued waterfront facility, making it more vibrant and attractive to a broader spectrum of our community. This major capital project is being funded by the town and, in part, by the state with a $1 million MA Seaport Economic Council grant. The new Seaside Marketplace was a major component of the project and it will certainly add to the appeal of Saquatucket Municipal Marina, making it more of a destination for residents, visitors and boaters alike. Artisan sheds where selected vendors will display and sell handmade and original work will serve to broaden the appeal of the harbor and further advance the Town’s already vibrant Cultural Center programs.
This week’s vendors include: High Tide, Maggie Anzola, Vintage Picks by Jen, Chatham Coastal Creations, and A Wild Irish Rose.

Alliance Bible Church Fire
BREWSTER - Firefighters were called to the scene of a major blaze at the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church in Brewster early Friday morning. The fire at the 3580 Main Street (Route 6A) church came in as an automatic alarm about 3 a.m. It went quickly to three-alarms bringing in mutual aid from seeral surrounding towns. The fire went through the roof and part of the building reportedly collapsed. Firefighters set up ladder pipes and fought the fire from outside. Route 6A in the area between Millstone Road and the Orleans Line is closed due to apparatus and hose lines in the roadway. Electricity was shut off in the area for safety reasons leaving some people without power. Most of that power was expected to restored this morning. The Red Cross is also on the scene providing hot drinks and rehab for firefighters. The State Fire Marshal's office has been called to investigate the cause of the fire.

While it was active, all U.S. Presidents in the post-World War II era landed in Air Force One at this airfield. About 1,300 acres of land originally taken by the air station was converted into a large recreational center, the Orange County Great Park, while the rest was re-zoned for residential and commercial development.
