Napo is a province in Ecuador. Its capital is Tena. The province contains the Napo River. The province is low developed without much industrial presence. The thick rainforest is home to many natives that remain isolated by preference, descendants of those who fled the Spanish invasion in the Andes, and the Incas years before.     Río Amazonas Airport is an airport serving Shell Mera, a town in the Pastaza Province of Ecuador. The airport was established in 1937 by Royal Dutch Shell and abandoned in 1948. In 1949 the Mission Aviation Fellowship, a Christian missionary group, established themselves in the area and used the airport as their main base. The Pastaza VOR-DME is located 0.91 nautical miles off the approach threshold of Runway 30. The Pastaza non-directional beacon is located 0.78 nautical miles off the same runway.
