Newnham on Severn is a village in west Gloucestershire, England. It lies in the Royal Forest of Dean, on the west bank of the River Severn, approximately 10 miles south-west of Gloucester and three miles southeast of Cinderford. It is on the A48 road between Gloucester and Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales. The village has a parish council. A parish church was established in the 14th century , and in 1366 a new church building was built on the high ground of the village as the old one faced erosion from the river. The new building has itself been damaged by a gunpowder explosion in 1644 during the English Civil War and a fire in 1881, but is still in use....

1. Blenheim Palace Woodstock
Blenheim & Woodstock was a railway station constructed in the neoclassical style which served the town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace in the English county of Oxfordshire. The station, as well as the line, was constructed by the Duke of Marlborough and was privately run until 1897 when it became part of the Great Western Railway. The number of trains serving the station was cut in the late 1930s, and again in 1952 down to only six trains a day. The last train ran on 27 February 1954 adorned with a wreath. The station building was initially converted into a garage and petrol station. Then the forecourt of the site was no longer used as a petrol station, but for used car sales only with a building company using some of the land behind the station. Drone footage shows surfers riding the Severn Bore

It's not Bondi Beach or Maui. Instead surfers from around the world braved chilly conditions of Newnham-on-Severn, in Gloucestershire to ride the river's Bore, on Friday. The Bore, which is a tidal phenomena that occurs in the lower reaches of the river, can been surging up the estuary carrying a slew of surfers. Hundreds of spectators are also seen lined along the riverbank to catch a glimpse of the first and only daytime five-star bore.

Tidal Bore on the River Lune September 2015

I was hoping to film the bore making its way past Glasson Dock. The bore was visible (binoculars or a high magnification video recorder) passing Sunderland Point in the distance, but it completely disappeared as it approached Glasson Dock. Lancaster city centre proved a much better viewing experience where the bore delighted spectators as it roared past St. George’s Quay. The Millennium Bridge provided a great location to film from.
