Section 6 of the Camino de Santiago along the French Way (Camino Francés) starts in the lively city of León. Visit the historic centre of León before continuing on your way to Santiago de Compostela. León was the capital of the kingdom in the Middle Ages, a historic enclave on the pilgrim's route to Santiago de Compostela. Try to visit the Romanesque Basilica de San Isidoro (they have a daily pilgrims mass), Casa de Botines designed by Gaudí, the Pulchra Leonina (the 'Sistine Chapel' of Spanish architecture) in the Cathedral and the old Hospital de San Marcos, today a beautiful 'Parador' hotel.

Abandonamos Castilla y León para entrar en Galicia, en concreto por la parroquia de O Cebreiro. Es una de las etapas más bellas, pero también una de las más duras. Las provincias de León y Lugo se unen en la Sierra de los Ancares, una Reserva Nacional. Nos espera un ascenso que empezará a hacerse notar entre Ambasmestas y Las Herrerías y se prolongará hasta la meta, en O Cebreiro.

On this adventure series I will be doing one of the most famous thru hikes in the world, Camino de Santiago or The Way of St. James. The camino actually has several different routes, and I will be taking one of the routes that is quickly getting a reputation for being the most beautiful routes of the Camino. The Camino del Norte or the Northern Way. This hike is roughly +835 kilometers and I plan to complete it in 35 days. On this episode I cover days 31-34 of the hike, trekking through the region of Galicia to the endpoint of Santiago de Compostela.

The Way is an ancient pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in the stat of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It is an absolute amazing travel experience for many a journey of spiritual significance.

En la etapa anterior terminamos en Hospital de Órbigo tras recorrer más de 35 km desde León. A la mañana siguiente nos preparamos para hacer frente otra larga etapa hasta Santa Catalina de Somoza (Castilla y León). Nosotros seguimos por la variante de Villares de Órbigo y Santibáñez de Valdeiglesias.

Day 25 Camino De Santiago Full Journey. San Martin-Astorga 23 ½ K

In this video, I have a good rest and feel my body and feet had some healing. I had reminders to slow it down. Listen to my body. Snails were in my path reminding me. A reminder of slow and steady.
Frost is in the air. I walked through cities and villages, bridges, and dirt paths. I saw beauty everywhere.
The landscape changed and flattened. Amazing. I reached Astorga! The chocolate capital of Spain. I had drinking chocolate!!! Divine, heaven! I saw gypsies dance and explored the city, saw the Gaudi Museum and the Astoria Cathedral. Both magnificent. A wonderful day.

Camino de Santiago, Larrasoaña a Pamplona. Camino Francés 02.
Esta etapa nos llevará a Pamplona, la primera de las cinco ciudades por las que el peregrino pasará hasta llegar a Santiago de Compostela, y lo haremos siguiendo la corriente del río Arga en el valle de Esteribar.
El tramo entre Larrasoaña y la capital navarra es famoso por sus puentes. Ya hemos pasado por el de Los Bandidos en Larrasoaña, pero nos faltan otros dos, el de Iturgaiz en Irotz y el puente de la Magdalena en Pamplona.

Along the path Camino Francés to Santiago Del Compostela we met the group with fantastic Korean kids... giving the tired pilgrims an extra energy boost listening to the drum shows.
I received this film from one of the members of my Golden Camino Team on my birthday in August... this was the very best present - bringing back the nice old Camino feeling from my pilgrimage to Santiago De Compostela and Cape Finisterre in June 2011.
