The magic begins on an early afternoon in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle as we board The Royal Scotsman at Waverley Station. With no more than 36 guests aboard drinking fine champagne, we head north from the city en route to the magnificent Highlands of Scotland. Some great golf and sightseeing lies ahead. The golfing roll call includes the celebrated Royal Dornoch, the highly acclaimed Castle Stuart Golf Links and the dramatic Cruden Bay. Sights to see are plentiful with nongolfers enjoying visits to castles, gardens and distilleries. The rail journey itself is stunning, with the incomparable Royal Scotsman train providing the most privileged and exclusive of platforms from which to watch the scenery unfold. Finally, at the end of a unique journey, The Royal Scotsman returns to Edinburgh's Waverley Station.

Scotland, Ullapool/Inverness A835. Braemore/Garve Jnc

This section of the A835 between Braemore Junction and the Garve Junction is a particularly fine stretch of road when the weather is reasonable .... it can be closed in winter due to ice/snow.. The views in both directions when the visibility is good can be superb. This particular video was taken on my return from a ride out to Ullapool on 3 July 2012. Video compression x 4.

Train to Sterling from Edinburgh

On our last day in Scotland, we took the train to Sterling to do some sightseeing, but since it was raining, we did some shopping instead!! Right after we stopped filming, we came up to a stop, so it would have gotten more interesting!
