Kilve is a village in West Somerset, England, within the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first AONB to be established, in 1957. It lies on the A39 almost exactly equidistant from Bridgwater to the east and Minehead to the west. The village includes a 17th-century coaching inn, and a post office and stores. This part of the village, formerly known as Putsham, also contains the village hall, which was extended to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

Wookey Hole Caves are a series of limestone caverns, a show cave and tourist attraction in the village of Wookey Hole on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills near Wells in Somerset, England. The River Axe flows through the cave. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for both biological and geological reasons. Wookey Hole cave is a solutional cave, one that is formed by a process of weathering in which the natural acid in groundwater dissolves the rocks. Some water originates as rain that flows into streams on impervious rocks on the plateau before sinking at the limestone boundary into cave systems such as Swildon's Hole, Eastwater Cavern and St Cuthbert's Swallet; the rest is rain that percolates directly through the limestone. FROM GOLDEN SOMERSET FIELDS TO THE SEA

Located near Kilve off the A39 road in West Somerset. We pass through fields full of growing yellow cattle food and visit the outside of St Marys Church at Kilve, which was built in the fourteenth Century. Then we walk on the the coast, arriving at Kilve Beach and see the ancient limestone paving which has been formed naturally over a very long period of time.

Gurney Manor Mill, B&B and self catering holiday accommodation in Cannington, Somerset, is owned and run by Pauline and Bill Sutton. They have owned this former Mill and farm buildings since 1993. Formerly part of the nearby Gurney Manor Estate, which is now owned by The Landmark Trust. For the first four years the major renovation work was undertaken to convert the buildings into a superior quality establishment it is these days.
The Mill is powered by water from the Mill Stream which is diverted from Cannington Brook and is still in working order today. There is evidence of the Mill being here since the 1200's, and it still has it's original shaft from the 1600's. It was restored in 1842 by Alfred Day and Sons of Mark in Somerset. The Old Cart House close by provides self catering accommodation for longer stays. In the grounds is the remains of The Old Millers Cottage, in the 1800's was the home of the village Postmistress. It was still habited into the 1950's and then was condemned as it had no running water !
Pauline and Bill have turned these old buildings into a first class Bed and Breakfast , and it is a credit to them for all their hard work to make it what it is today. They have tastefully decorated the inside with beautiful furniture and fittings,also the amazing gardens are really special too, and it is the result of their vision that has made it what it is in 2014. They have been customers of mine now for over 7 Years ,( I am their Postman ) and this is the first time i have ever seen the whole place. Apparently Bill makes a superb cooked breakfast,which many people have enjoyed over the Years.
If you fancy a break for a few nights or longer, i would say that Gurney Manor Mill would be the ideal place to stay in the peace and tranquility of the Somerset countryside, and you would be ensured of a very warm welcome.!!
