    The Casa da Moeda do Brasil is the Brazilian mint, owned by the Brazilian government and administratively subordinated to the Ministry of Finances. It was established in 1694. Its current headquarters and industrial facilities occupy a modern plant with 110,000 square metres in Rio de Janeiro's western suburb of Santa Cruz.It produces legal tender coins and banknotes. It also produces medals and security prints that are used and issued by government-run service providers. Having the highest technology and production capacity in South America, until the 1980s it also produced coins, banknotes and passports for several South American and African countries that lacked a similar facility. It is now aiming to return to the foreign market.

The palace is located within Eduardo Guinle Park, a park in the Laranjeiras neighbourhood of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Formerly the residence of one of the wealthiest Brazilian families, the palace was purchased by the Brazilian Federal Government in 1947 to host visitors, such as foreign Heads of State or Heads of Government. At that time, the city of Rio de Janeiro was the capital of Brazil. In 1974, the Federal Government ceded ownership of the palace to the former State of Guanabara.   • 9. Arquivo Nacional Rio De Janeiro
    The Brazilian National Archives were created in 1838 as the Imperial Public Archives. They were renamed in 1911, and are located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From 1868 to 1983, the building housed the old Brazilian Mint. It was built in the Neoclassical style by engineers Antonio Pinheiro Guimarães Francisco and Teodoro Antonio de Oliveira using gneiss. Access to the building is through a classical portal with three pediments on the same facade. The archive collection include 1.74 million photographs and negatives, 20,000 illustrations, 44,000 maps, 124,000 films and 4,000 videotapes. The library holds collections on history, library science and law with 43,000 volumes, 900 newspapers and 6,300 rare works.
