Amedzofe is a settlement north of Ho in the mountainous region of the Ho Municipal District of the Volta Region of Ghana. It is presently located in the Newly Created Ho-West District Assembly. Amedzofe is a settlement in the mountains, and can boast of four natural gifts:The Ote[otay] falls, Mt. Gemi, the Weather and the Landscape. It has played a role in the nineteenth century Anglo-Ashanti Wars. The Amedzofe Training School was built in 1880 by German Missionaries. It is at an altitude of 677 metres, above sea level.

    Elmina Castle was erected by the Portuguese in 1482 as São Jorge da Mina Castle, also known simply as Mina or Feitoria da Mina) in present-day Elmina, Ghana . It was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, and the oldest European building in existence south of the Sahara. First established as a trade settlement, the castle later became one of the most important stops on the route of the Atlantic slave trade. The Dutch seized the fort from the Portuguese in 1637, and took over all the Portuguese Gold Coast in 1642. The slave trade continued under the Dutch until 1814. In 1872, the Dutch Gold Coast, including the fort, became a possession of the British Empire.   • 2. Fort Prinzenstein Volta Region
    Fort Prinzenstein is a fort located at Keta, Ghana which was used in the slave trade. Many such forts were built in Africa, but Prinzenstein is one of the few that lie east of the Volta River. It was initially built by Danish traders in 1784 for defensive purposes in a war against the Anlo Ewe and to keep the area safe from other colonial powers.
