Rhosgoch is a small village in the north of the island of Anglesey, Wales, about 3.5 miles to the south-west of Amlwch.A short distance to the west of the village is the small lake Llyn Hafodol and a mile to the south is Anglesey's largest body of water the reservoir Llyn Alaw .The village once had a station on the Anglesey Central Railway. 1. Beaumaris Castle Beaumaris
Beaumaris Castle , in Beaumaris, Anglesey, Wales, was built as part of Edward I's campaign to conquer the north Wales after 1282. Plans were probably first made to construct the castle in 1284, but this was delayed due to lack of funds and work only began in 1295 following the Madog ap Llywelyn uprising. A substantial workforce was employed in the initial years under the direction of James of St George. Edward's invasion of Scotland soon diverted funding from the project, however, and work stopped, only recommencing after an invasion scare in 1306. When work finally ceased around 1330 a total of £15,000 had been spent, a huge sum for the period, but the castle remained incomplete. Pentre-Mawr is a beautifully converted farmhouse with a hot tub, surrounded by a working farm, on the edge of the hamlet of Rhosgoch near to the village of Painscastle in the undulating Welsh border countryside.

The farmhouse is a perfect base for families and groups of friends to explore the surrounding countryside. Set over two floors, there are four large bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and a large family bathroom. On the ground floor is a large well-equipped kitchen which looks over fields and has an island unit with a small breakfast bar. From the kitchen, you can access a spacious dining room and through to a comfortable sitting room with a TV and a Wii games console, where you can sit and plan your day’s adventures over a morning cup of tea.
