Ruislip is an area in West London, England, which is part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. It is an ancient ecclesiastical parish in Greater London which lay in the historic county of Middlesex. The parish appears in Domesday Book, some of the earliest settlements still exist today, designated as local heritage sites. The parish church, St Martin's, dates back to the 13th century and remains in use. The buildings at the northern end of Ruislip High Street form the core of the original village square and are now Grade II listed.     The Polish War Memorial is a war memorial in West London, England in memory of airmen from Poland who served in the Royal Air Force as part of the Polish contribution to World War II. It is in South Ruislip in the London Borough of Hillingdon beside the A40 road at the roundabout junction with the A4180 road. It is near RAF Northolt, where seven Polish-manned fighter squadrons were based at different times in the war. The monument is a prominent local landmark. The term Polish War Memorial is commonly used as the name of the junction between A40 and A4180 roads, as well as for the monument itself. The monument is a Grade II listed building.
