  • 1. Victoria Pier Victoria
    Victoria is a British television drama series created and principally written by Daisy Goodwin, which stars Jenna Coleman as Queen Victoria. The series premiered in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2016 on ITV, and in the United States on 15 January 2017 on PBS, which supported its production as part of the Masterpiece anthology. The first series consisted of eight episodes and concluded on 9 October 2016. In September 2016, ITV renewed Victoria for an eight-episode second series, which premiered in the UK on 27 August 2017 and was followed by a 2017 Christmas special. In December 2017, Victoria was renewed for a third series.

  • 2. Trial Island Lighthouse Victoria
    The major Trial Island is home to the Trial Islands Lighthouse which is operated by the Canadian Coast Guard, continues to be staffed by two full-time lightkeepers. The lighthouse was constructed in 1906. The fourth order Fresnel lens from 1906 was used until it was replaced in 1970. That original lens is now on display courtesy of the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in Bastion Square in Downtown Victoria. In September 2009 it was announced that the Trial Island Light would be automated to cut staffing costs. The Oak Bay Heritage Foundation proposed Trial Island Lighthouse for protection through the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act.
