HOMS is a administrative region north of Damascus and is the largest so called 14 governorates of Syria
This and all other regions in Syria are being monitored since the first month of the people's uprising against the Assad regime in March 2011
Unfortunately, tens of thousands footages has been archived while a You Tube play list can only contain a maximum of 200 clips. This means you have to dig out a huge number of play lists for each of the 14 regions for a video. That is why we will come with the six administrative regions being attacked the most by the regime:
ALEPPO - DAMASCUS - DARAA - HAMA - HOMS - IDLIB
We woud like to launch separate channels for all 14 regions but Google does only allow a maximum of 6 registrations with a same number.

It is common to see a picture of a Syrian army soldier flashing a victory sign after some recent success in battle, while in the background most buildings in the town lie in ruins, and the former residents of the area are living elsewhere in refugee camps. More than (400,000) Syrians have been killed in the four-year war, at least one million have been wounded, and an estimated twelve million Syrians which is half of Syrias population are refugees. An entire generation of Syrian children are growing up without an education in a landscape laid to waste. In this sense Syria has become hell on Earth. How did this happen?
Be it the Ottomans, the British, the French or exclusive Syrian clans every single one of them has eventually brought nothing but misery to Syria.
The Syrian people were victims of a constant power struggle between different occupiers and tyrants that would benefit the Syrians only as long as it kept them in power and that would sacrifice anything - the country, its people, their dignity - to stay in charge of the country.
At the end of the day the reasons are always the same: money, geopolitics, thirst for power and control.
And this is why today Syria lies in ruins.

Human Rights Watch's Nadim Houry says Homs, Syria, has emerged as a center of opposition to the government of President Bashar al-Assad. A new report from Human Rights Watch focuses on violations by Syrian security forces, including the deaths of at least 587 civilians, the highest number of casualties for any single governorate in Syria.
Syria: Damage caused by IS in Palmyra is 'substantial' - Governor of Homs Province
Governor of Homs Province Talal al-Barazi estimated damage caused by the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the ancient city of Palmyra as substantial, during an interview with RT, Saturday.
Talal al-Barazi, Governor of Homs Province (Arabic): First of all, I want to welcome the Syrian Arab Army [SAA] and our Russian friends who have planned the operation and contributed to this great historic achievement. I hope that with the help of Allah we will achieve more victories in the direction of al-Sakhna as well as in the direction of the Shaer gas field. Yesterday and today, we have evaluated the state of the infrastructure. There is substantial damage to communications, water, electricity and canalisation. Today the leaders of the relevant departments have estimated the amount of damage. Some of them have immediately begun to carry out the primary works. When the Syrian sapper battalion completes the clearance operation and the destruction of the explosive devices installed by ISIS in the city, the immediate work on the restoration of public services will begin.
Talal al-Barazi, Governor of Homs Province (Arabic): Yes. There is a group of Russian specialists who work together with the Syrian sapper battalion. They began the works yesterday, and they continue at the moment. Indeed, the Russians work on the ground along with the demining units of the Syrian army. They are engaged in mine clearance as well as the restoration of stability and security in the city. I believe that the operation of the Syrian army and the support of the Russian specialists have been successful and fast. It provided the opportunity to preserve the historical monuments of the city. It was well planned so as to minimise damage to the city.
