From the high, moorland plateaus in the north, to the steep-sided, deep dales and rolling green hills in the south of the area, the Peak District & Derbyshire has just about any landscape you can imagine in Britain, making it one of the finest areas in the country to go walking. -

Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, England - 13th August, 2014
Heights of Abraham is a major tourist attraction in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, England. It consists of a hilltop park on top of Masson Hill, accessed by a Gondola cable car from the village. The cable car was opened in 1984 and is the first ever alpine cable car in Britain. The route is 568 metres (1,864 ft) long and climbs 169 metres (554 ft).
This film features: views of the cable car; views from the cable car of the ascent; views from the top of Masson Hill of the surrounding countryside, towns and villages; the descent back down Masson Hill including the landscape beneath the cable car.

Edale in the Peak District is the start of the Pennine Way and has been voted as Britain best walking destination with thousands of walks available on this 268 mile stretch. This roadtrip travel vlog we stopped at the YHA Edale and did some hiking to Mam Tor, a popular lookout with stunning walks and views of the countryside.

Matlock, Derbyshire
Matlock is the county town of Derbyshire and a former Peak District spa town situated on the River Derwent.
The town is also twinned with Eaubonne in France.
Matlock and Matlock Bath are popular areas with bikers and often hundreds of bikers hit the town in the weekend summer months.
