Great Alne is a small village in Warwickshire, England, 7 miles north-west of Stratford-upon-Avon, 3 miles north-east of Alcester, and 15 miles from Warwick, on the road to Wootton Wawen. It takes its name from the River Alne and was first chronicled in the charter of King Ethelbald .In 1969, Warwickshire County Council designated part of Great Alne as a Conservation Area, including most of the village east of the Memorial Hall and twelve listed buildings of local architectural and historical value. At the 2001 census, the population was 587.

1. Avebury Stone Circle Avebury
Avebury is a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles, around the village of Avebury in Wiltshire, in southwest England. One of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain, it contains the largest megalithic stone circle in the world. It is both a tourist attraction and a place of religious importance to contemporary pagans. Constructed over several hundred years in the Third Millennium BC, during the Neolithic, or New Stone Age, the monument comprises a large henge with a large outer stone circle and two separate smaller stone circles situated inside the centre of the monument. Its original purpose is unknown, although archaeologists believe that it was most likely used for some form of ritual or ceremony. Remarkable footage of a giant wild cat prowling in Warwickshire countryside

A father was left stunned when he spotted a wild BIG CAT prowling around a field that backs onto his home. See NTI story NTICAT. Shocking video footage shows the large feline slowly turn around before making its way back into some bushes. The giant cat has a black tail and appears to have patterned markings similar to a lynx. Philip White, 39, was looking out of his patio window when he spotted the giant animal in a field behind his home in Great Alne, Warks. He managed to film the wild cat, which was just 70ft (21m) away from him, before it disappeared.
